Yes indeed they do suck! These are chants that were heard in the House that Ruth built which is gone now, and are heard in the House that George built today. They are directed at the Boston Red Sox. Yankee fans despise this team and all it stands for. Red Sox fans reciprocate this 'love' to the Yankees. Well, now there is another reason to hate on the Red Sox other than for rivalry reasons. Not one showed up to the funeral of Red Sox great Johnny Pesky who has a Fenway Park foul pole informally named after him.
This is sad indeed. After learning of the death of Yankee catcher Thurman Munson, Yankees owner George Steinbrenner (deceased) immediately had the team attend his funeral even against the wishes of Major League Baseball who said if they missed a schedule game they would forfeit.
Steinbrenner reportly replied,
"Then we'll forfeit then..."
May Johnny Pesky rest in peace. Shame on the Boston Red Sox! Boston indeed sucks!
