Trump Orders Release of "Alien" Files

In a surprising turn of events that has reignited public fascination with extraterrestrial life, President Donald Trump announced on February 19, 2026, that he is directing federal agencies—including the Department of Defense—to begin the process of identifying and releasing government files related to aliens, extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs).

The directive came just hours after Trump criticized former President Barack Obama for recent comments suggesting aliens are "real." Trump claimed Obama had disclosed classified information, calling it a "big mistake" and stating that Obama "is not supposed to be doing that."

 The Spark: Obama's Podcast Remarks

The controversy traces back to a podcast interview with Brian Tyler Cohen, released around February 14, 2026. When asked directly, "Are aliens real?" Obama responded: "They're real, but I haven't seen them. And they're not being kept in... Area 51. There's no underground facility unless there's this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the president of the United States."

Obama later clarified his statement on social media, explaining that he was responding in the "spirit of the speed round" of questions. He emphasized: "Statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good there’s life out there. But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances we’ve been visited by aliens is low, and I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us."

Despite the clarification—that Obama had seen no evidence of alien contact during his time in office—his initial quip went viral, sparking widespread discussion and memes across social media.

 Trump's Response and Announcement

Aboard Air Force One on February 19, Trump addressed reporters about Obama's remarks. He expressed uncertainty about aliens himself: "I don't know if they're real or not." He then accused Obama of mishandling classified info, adding jokingly, "I may get him out of trouble by declassifying."

Later that evening, Trump posted on Truth Social: "Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters. GOD BLESS AMERICA!"

The announcement has fueled excitement among UFO enthusiasts, while skeptics question whether it will yield groundbreaking revelations or mostly redacted documents, given ongoing UAP investigations by the Pentagon and Congress in recent years.

Trump's move continues his pattern of declassification efforts and taps into long-standing public curiosity about potential government knowledge of non-human intelligence. Whether this leads to transparency or more questions remains to be seen, but it has undeniably placed the topic back in the national spotlight.

Did Trump inadvertently confirm what Obama stated? If Trump's reply to the reporter was that Obama was not supposed to reveal classified information, then that means what Obama said was true, aliens are real, and this was classified.  Or perhaps this is a distraction from the Epstein files?

Alex 'Voice of Reason' Jurado Attends Protestant Sect

Concern grows in the Catholic community over reports that Alex Jurado ("Voice of Reason"), a Byzantine Catholic apologist, attended a Protestant congregation's service after being invited by Brandon Davila, a Protestant podcaster.

Jurado faced serious allegations in 2025 of sexual misconduct, including inappropriate messaging with adult women (which he admitted) and grooming a minor (which he denied). His bishop restricted him from public ministry events pending investigation, and major Catholic platforms distanced themselves.

Despite this, Jurado reportedly resumed public activity, including behind a Patreon paywall, without public clearance from his bishop. He now appears at a Protestant service, raising questions about his commitment to Catholic teaching.

 Bad Optics and Implications

This creates poor optics for several reasons:

- A public figure caught in grave public sin (lust and scandal) should step back for repentance and restoration, ideally under ecclesiastical guidance. Returning quickly, especially without episcopal statement, downplays the gravity of sins that damaged his credibility as an apologist and catechist.

- Attending Protestant services, particularly when invited by a podcaster like Davila, suggests Jurado may be softening on core Catholic doctrines (e.g., the Eucharist, papal authority, Marian dogmas) that he once defended vigorously.

- It appears Davila exploits the scandal for content views, potentially drawing a vulnerable Jurado away from the Catholic Church during his crisis. This risks portraying Catholicism as interchangeable with Protestantism, confusing followers and undermining ecumenism's goal of unity in truth.

Catholic Teaching on Attending Protestant Services

The Catholic Church permits limited attendance at non-Catholic services for reasons like family events or civility, but cautions against actions implying indifference to doctrinal differences or full communion.

- The Directory for the Application of Principles and Norms on Ecumenism (1993, Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity) states in n. 118: Catholics may participate in psalms, responses, hymns, and common actions as guests, but must avoid suggesting no real separation exists. It never substitutes for Mass obligation.

- Catholics cannot receive "communion" in Protestant services, as it falsely signals unity where none exists fully (Canon 844, Code of Canon Law).

- Regular or active participation risks scandal, perversion of faith, or indifferentism.

True ecumenism seeks full communion in Catholic truth, not blending worship that obscures differences (Unitatis Redintegratio, Vatican II).

Jurado even stated publicly that he would go again. This is troublesome and scandalous.  For an apologist who debated Protestants and engaged their content to be attending a Protestant sect service and then saying he will go again, this is validating the sect and its heresies.

This is the same Jurado who said he would excommunicate Taylor Marshall if he could. While Marshall has some strange views and distorts Catholicism, he would most likely never attend a Protestant service.

Pray for Jurado's authentic repentance, return to full Catholic practice under his bishop's guidance, and that any outreach remains rooted in the Church's fullness of faith. He may be "testing the waters" and might be lured away.

Father Carlos Martins Cleared of Charges Following Alleged Incident During St. Jude Relic Tour

Father Carlos Martins Cleared of Charges Following Alleged Incident During St. Jude Relic Tour

Father Carlos Martins, a priest of the Companions of the Cross and host of the popular podcast The Exorcist Files, faced a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from an incident on November 21, 2024, at Queen of Apostles Parish in Joliet, Illinois. While leading a nationwide tour of a first-class relic of St. Jude the Apostle through his ministry, Treasures of the Church, Martins was accused of inappropriate conduct involving a 13-year-old female student during a presentation attended by over 200 students. The allegations centered on claims that Martins touched the girl’s hair, made a joking remark about using it to “floss his teeth,” and later sat behind her, allegedly making a growling noise. These actions were reported as boundary violations, prompting the parish to contact the police and halt the relic tour. Martins was temporarily suspended from ministry by his religious order, the Companions of the Cross, pending a police investigation.

The incident began when Martins, known for his engaging and humorous style, reportedly attempted to build rapport with the students by joking about his baldness. According to his attorney, Marcella Burke, he commented to the girl, “You and I have almost the same hairstyle,” which elicited laughter, and then remarked that he once had long hair like hers, jokingly adding he would “floss my teeth with it.” The student’s father, upon hearing of the interaction, contacted the police, leading to a criminal complaint filed by the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office on January 23, 2025. The complaint alleged that Martins placed the girl’s hair in his mouth in a “flossing motion,” an action his legal team vehemently denied, calling the accusations “egregious and unfounded” and describing the case as “a takedown of a good priest and an attempted shakedown of the Church”.[](https://www.americamagazine.org/faith/2025/02/04/exorcist-carlos-martins-pleads-not-guilty-battery-249837)[](https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/exorcist-father-carlos-martins-cleared-of-all-charges-over-absurd-misconduct-allegations)

On July 30, 2025, the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office dismissed all charges against Martins, closing the case without any finding of wrongdoing or criminal liability. The Burke Law Group announced that Martins had been “fully cleared,” with attorney Marcella Burke stating, “This was a case that never should have been brought forward.” Martins expressed gratitude for the support and prayers he received, saying, “I am thankful for the truth coming to light and look forward to resuming my ministry and continuing to preach the Gospel”. The dismissal followed a lack of evidence to support the allegations, with Martins’ legal team asserting that he never placed the girl’s hair in his mouth or growled at her, as claimed. The Diocese of Joliet had initially classified the incident as a“boundary issue” rather than sexual misconduct, noting that additional facts existed but declining to elaborate pending the investigation.[](https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/exorcist-father-carlos-martins-cleared-of-all-charges-over-absurd-misconduct-allegations)[](https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/265661/father-carlos-martins-cleared-of-misdemeanor-charges-after-incident-at-illinois-parish)[](https://www.pillarcatholic.com/p/relic-priest-responds-to-incident)

The resolution of the case was seen as a vindication for Martins, whose ministry had been significantly disrupted. The St. Jude relic tour, endorsed by the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Causes of Saints and attended by nearly 2 million pilgrims, was abruptly ended following the incident. Supporters, including EWTN’s Raymond Arroyo, called for Martins’ immediate restoration to ministry, emphasizing his innocence and the impact of his work in promoting faith through relic veneration and his podcast. The case highlighted the challenges faced by clergy in navigating public interactions, with some commentators noting a “hypervigilant atmosphere” where accusations can lead to swift suspensions despite a lack of evidence. Martins’ clearance allows him to move forward with his mission, which has inspired thousands through spiritual warfare teachings and devotion to sacred relics.[](https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/265661/father-carlos-martins-cleared-of-misdemeanor-charges-after-incident-at-illinois-parish)[](https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/exorcist-father-carlos-martins-cleared-of-all-charges-over-absurd-misconduct-allegations)[](https://www.pillarcatholic.com/p/st-jude-relic-tour-suspended-over)

The End of BlogTalkRadio: A Look Back and What's Next

The End of BlogTalkRadio: A Look Back and What's Next

BlogTalkRadio, once a pioneer in internet radio, has announced its closure as of January 31, 2025. This marks the end of an era for many hosts and listeners who have relied on the platform for years. In this blog post, we'll take a look back at the history of BlogTalkRadio, its impact on the podcasting world, and what hosts can do next.

A Brief History of BlogTalkRadio

Founded in 2006 by Alan Levy and Ron Bloom, BlogTalkRadio revolutionized the way people could create and share radio shows online. The platform allowed anyone with a microphone and an internet connection to host their own live call-in shows, making it accessible to a wide audience. Over the years, BlogTalkRadio hosted thousands of shows, covering a diverse range of topics from politics and religion to entertainment and personal development.

The Impact on Podcasting

BlogTalkRadio played a significant role in the growth of podcasting. Many hosts who started on BlogTalkRadio went on to become successful podcasters, using the skills and experience they gained on the platform to build their own audiences. The platform also helped to popularize the concept of live call-in shows, which have since become a staple in the podcasting world.

The Closure and Its Implications

The announcement of BlogTalkRadio's closure has left many hosts wondering what to do next. The platform's end is a reminder of the ever-changing nature of the digital landscape and the need for adaptability. Hosts are encouraged to transition their shows to other platforms, such as podcasting or video streaming, to continue reaching their audience.

What's Next for BlogTalkRadio Hosts?

For hosts looking to move their shows to a new platform, there are several options:

1. Transition to a Podcast: Podcasting is a natural next step for BlogTalkRadio hosts. Platforms like Buzzsprout and Spreaker make it easy to import old episodes and upload new ones. They also offer distribution to major directories like Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

2. Start a Video Show: Video shows can be a great way to connect with your audience on a more personal level. Platforms like YouTube and StreamYard allow hosts to broadcast live and create professional video content.

3. Go Hybrid: Combining podcasting and video shows can maximize your reach and cater to different types of listeners. Recording your show as a video and repurposing the audio for a podcast is a popular strategy.

Conclusion

The end of BlogTalkRadio marks the end of an era, but it also opens up new opportunities for hosts to grow and evolve. By transitioning to new platforms and embracing new formats, hosts can continue to share their voices and connect with their audience in meaningful ways.  We at Sacerdotus will truly miss this platform which we used for SacerdotusRadio and The Anointed Mic. We hope the platform can be brought back to life by someone like Elon Musk or another wealthy person or entity who can restore and update it.  It was surely a productive and fun platform to use. We will miss it.

Atheist Activist & Host of 'Recovering from Religion' Podcast Kills Wife & Himself

Atheists love to claim that Christians commit the most crimes or that the overall population in prison is Christian. However, they forget to mention the many crimes perpetrated by their own. Scott Smith, an atheist activist, and veteran of the military killed his wife and himself in a murder-suicide.  His wife Jennifer Smith was about to file for a divorce. Smith hosted a podcast entitled "Recovering from Religion" and was part of the Military Association of Atheists & Freethinkers.

On Monday, 911 in San Antonio, Texas received a call from Scott Smith saying that he was going to kill his wife and himself.  Police rushed to their home and shot tear gas into it.  Once they made their way in, they found Smith's wife Jennifer dead in a room on the second floor.  Scott Smith posted on Facebook "Goodbye" which is believed to be a cryptic messages announcing his suicide. As the tragedy occurred, their young daughters Laura, Lily, and Amber were in school unaware that their parents were dead. Scott's older son Aaron of 27 years of age found out via social media what was going on.

The story is tragic but demonstrates the problems that atheism causes in people. Studies show that atheists have one of the highest rates of mental illness and suicide. Atheism empties the atheist of all hope. It causes an existential crisis which can lead to depression and suicide. When life is reduced to nothing more than materialistic constructs, then there is no purpose to it. Life becomes a random algorithm in the universe that is accidental and has no purpose. Ironically, William Scott Smith hosted a podcast about recovering from religion. Notice how his troubles occurred after he abandoned God and religion. The "Friendly Atheist" and others blame post-traumatic stress disorder for this tragedy, however, we must ask why Scott did not face PTSD when he was a theist?  Why did he engage in this murder-suicide after he became an atheist? It is clear that atheism had a role to play. It robbed him of a moral compass which blinded him to the fact that life is sacred and that no one warrants death even when that someone may have caused hurt. Christians know to forgive, cut their losses and move on. An atheist devoid of morality does not think rationally and resorts to violence. We see this online where those claiming to be atheists resort to abusive behavior without provocation. Atheism is a poison of the mind which infects the heart.

My prayers go out to those affected by this tragedy. Scott now knows there is a God.  May God have mercy on his soul.  Atheism kills.

Please Donate! Help Evangelize!

Please donate to help me run this online ministry which reaches out to people via blogs, radio podcast, Google Hangouts, social networks and mail (shipping Rosaries and other materials). Funds are needed for the following:

1. Help keep the blog domain URL names which are expensive and help bring in web traffic. see godaddy.com. UPDATE DEC 21, 2015 - I was able to renew my main domain name for 2 years www.sacerdotus.com. However, I now have a few more:

www.sacerdotus.co
www.sacerdotus.info
www.sacerdotus.org
www.sacerdotus.net

See the tweet where I announce this here:

2. To help purchase podcasting equipment for the radio podcast show and expand the time slot for it by updating the subscription. I use the free one which offers 30 minutes.  The 'small' or 'medium' subscription would be more useful so that I can speak longer, take in calls and have better audio.  For subscription costs see and the screen captures below: https://secure.blogtalkradio.com/register.aspx?aid=CRMTS

3. I mail religious articles (Rosaries, Crucifixes, Pamphlets, Medals, Scapulars etc) to people who request them. This costs money to purchase and mail. Shipping is expensive, so funds are needed to help cover this cost as well. See usps.com for cost information regarding shipping.

4. I want to publish some books to help maintain this work via sales. In order to publish, I need funds for printing, access to research papers to cite from (journals et al) etc.

5. In the future, I may expand the work on Livestream and other streaming and video services which also cost money. I also need funds to get expensive computer programs and webcam to make this possible.

Sacerdotus Hangouts: Atheist Open Mic

Since I began evangelizing on Twitter, Facebook, Google + and elsewhere online, many atheists have engaged me via these platforms.  However, due to limitations regarding how much can be typed and the exaggerated rules regarding spam and abuse, I decided to start a new format to engage atheists on. Hopefully, online atheists will take advantage of this new format which will be live and neutral. They can address me in real time and not have to wait until I have free time to respond to their messages.  Moreover, this will separate the real atheists from the trolls who pose as them on social networks.

Unfortunately, many online atheists hide behind tweets and comment forums. This gives them a sense of security and many times sets up theists for trolling.  I hope "Sacerdotus Hangouts: Atheist Open Mic" will counter this and truly create a platform where a discussion can be had without trolling and nonsensical postings.

I hope to have this at least once a week and will be posted with this message:

Join Sacerdotus Hangouts' Atheist open mic
In this broadcast, Sacerdotus invites atheists to join him live via the show or via chat to present questions and comments. Sacerdotus will address those which are civil, appropriate and relevant.

Come and join Sacerdotus
To join the discussion, please email Sacerdotus at the email found here: http://www.sacerdotus.com/p/sacerdotus-hangouts.html
In your email, send your name and a brief bio or introduction which Sacerdotus will use to introduce you on live. ONLY those who SEND ME AN EMAIL will be allowed to join. NO OTHER REQUESTS will be honored (comments on threads, mentions, tweets etc).

You have until (date of broadcast & time) EST to send your request.
Note: No trolls will be given a platform or sound board.

I hope atheists and theists alike will join me for Atheist Open Mic when it is scheduled. This post will be updated with links to the latest broadcasts.

"Star Talk" Debut

I have just finished watching the premier episode of the podcast StarTalk now on the National Geographic channel. It was much better than I expected.  Host Neil deGrasse Tyson had guests George Takei, Leighann Lord, Bill Nye and Charles Liu, an astrophysics professor at my alma mater CUNY.  They spoke on Star Trek and how the show foreshadowed many of the technological advances we see today.

The show was filmed at the Hayden Planetarium in Manhattan; a place I remember very well going as a child on trips.  Tyson sat with Leighan Lord and Charles Liu and discussed Star Trek and at certain segments, turned to a flat screen off to the side to view interviews with George Takei aka "Sulu" from the Star Trek original series and towards the end of the program, Bill Nye "The Science Guy."

During commercial breaks, I was surprised to see that Fr. James Martin of the Jesuit order was shown in a recorded episode which will probably air in the future. This should be an interesting episode indeed. So far, "StarTalk" seems to be a show that will catch on with "nerds" and those who love late night casual talk shows.  It is not heavily scientific, but more of a casual discussion among friends.  I am hoping to get tickets to attend a taping!

DeGrasse to host "StarTalk" on Television

Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson seems to be all over these days. He was chosen to host the remake of the late Carl Sagan's hit, "Cosmos" in 2014 and apparently decided not to continue with the series despite its popularity.

He also hosts a popular podcast entitled "StarTalk." DeGrasse is a product of the Bronx of Puerto Rican and African American descent who fell in love with the stars. He speaks passionately on science and sometimes makes statements which cause controversy.

Despite this, he is a great communicator and will now have a night program named after his podcast on the National Geographic Channel.  "StarTalk" will air on April 20, 2015 according to the National Geographic Channel network. In keeping with the tradition of the podcast, he will be having a host of guests from a variety of backgrounds including scientists such as Richard Dawkins, actors such as Star Trek's George Takei, and others.

I am excited to learn of this news and look forward to viewing the TV version of his podcast which I enjoy listening to.  It is sad that he will not return to "Cosmos," but rumor has it that one of my former instructors, Michio Kaku at CUNY will take his place.  That being said, "Cosmos" is in very good hands!

In other news, here is a funny video of Degrasse sounding as if he were high: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/25/neil-degrasse-tyson-stoned-video-response_n_5023458.html
