Hello my brothers and sisters,
I received this email which I was given permission to repost by "Vox Cantoris" who blogs at voxcantoris.blogspot.com. He is trying to help a transitional Deacon of the Syro-Malabar Rite who will be ordained to the priesthood on December 30th of this year.
The Deacon needs funds to help build a home for his family in order to have them available for his ordination. I understand we are all going through hard times, but if you can, please consider donating to this cause.
God always repays us whatever we use when we help others. I know this first hand and am sure you know what I am referring to.
Here is the email and the details regarding where to donate:
Dear Friends,
A few months ago I met a Deacon in India through my Facebook. He is of the Syro-Malabar Rite which dates from the apostolic journey of St. Thomas the Apostle. Deacon Joseph will be ordained to the priesthood on December 30, 2015. He is the eldest of two sons and has been called by Christ to the priesthood. As the eldest, he also feels responsibility to assist his parents who are very poor, his father has recovered from tuberculosis but life has not been easy. They live in a three-walled, tin-roofed hut. Yet there in a little window are pictures of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Deacon Joseph began a fundraising page on YouCaring. It had $60 of a total goal of $8000 which he was hoping to use to build a house for his parents and bring them to his Ordination. After communicating in writing with his religious superior and confirming his good standing, I decided to write a blog post about the situation. As of today, almost $4000 has been raised. We have a donor who has agree to match dollar for dollar everything about that.
Donor fatigue is no doubt a problem for many. I’ve never done this before but I am asking you to consider a gift to Joseph. There was a problem with Paypal and YouCaring in India receiving funds. I have assured Joseph that the Toronto Traditional Mass Society will receive the funds from Paypal and YouCaring and 100% will be sent to him.

If you wish a tax receipt, you can send funds through CanadaHelps. Please specify “For Deacon Joseph.”

There are 400 people receiving this letter. If each gave just $10.00, we would finish his house.
Thank you.
