Cyborg Implants

"Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated" This is a famous line from the Star Trek: The Next Generation franchise.

The USS. Enterprise is pushed by the entity "Q" into an unexplored region of space. While there, they encounter a cube like vessel with cyborgs on board. These cyborgs have found a way to connect technology with physiology.

Anyhow, researchers at MIT have opened to door to possibly having humanoids with technology wired into them just like the Borg of Star Trek. They have developed a fuel cell that feeds off the glucose in the brain's cerebrospinal fluid. It converts the glucose into energy similarly to the way an animal cell uses the ATP process to break down glucose into energy and distribute it.

With this technology, implants and other electronic medical objects could use these fuel cells to power them for a long time and help a patient live a healthier life.
