Pope to American Bishops: Revive Christianity

The Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI reminded American Bishops during their Ad Limina visit that they need to revive Christianity in the United States of America.  He sees, just like Bl. John Paul II and the Popes before him that secularism and immorality are on the rise.  In a nation founded upon Christian ideas and values, one would think that it would be immune to secularism, however, this is not the case.

Institutions of higher learning have been hijacked by people who do not even know what truth is or simply deny it exists.  They water everything down until all that is taught is confusion and intellectual disarray.  The graduates of these institutions then move on to spread this poison into society.

Unfortunately, the pulpits are far too often silent on important issues that are heavily focused on in institutions of higher learning such as abortion, feminism, gay marriage, contraception and the like.  Sometimes priests and bishops are afraid of speaking out because doing so will bring heat on them.  Well my response is, so be it!  Being Catholic does not mean we are supposed to live comfortably in a world that is lost in sin.  Our comfortable living will be in the Triumphant Church!   We are in the Militant Church now and we cannot be silent while the enemy plans and attacks.

In any event, God is always in control.  He has a plan even though we might some times feel Christianity is losing the battle.
