Cuomo - "Real New Yorkers"

New York's governor Cuomo is under fire for his intolerant words basically identifying New Yorkers as being "pro-abortion, pro-gay, pro-gun control etc."

He said on a radio program:

“Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are, and if they are the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.” "Only moderate Republicans have a place in this state.”

With these words, Cuomo has told Catholics, those who uphold the Constitution as well as conservatives that they are not New Yorkers and don't belong there and are extremists.  Seriously Cuomo?!?

He has basically called Cardinal Dolan an extremist.  Cuomo seems to have this tendency to call those who oppose his views "extremists."  The truth of the matter is that the majority of New Yorkers want limits on abortion, do not support so-called "gay marriage" and do not hold the views Cuomo does.  As a matter of fact, Cuomo had to do a backdoor deal in order to get "gay marriage" passed in the senate (see: http://www.sacerdotus.com/2011/10/gay-marriage-in-ny.html). Moreover, while New York may be a "northern" state, it still is fond of second amendment rights to bear arms. Cuomo's push for gun control laws has outraged many New Yorkers including cops (see: http://www.wkbw.com/video/Many-Upset-over-New-York-Gun-Law-187062071.html)

Lori Kehoe of New York State Right to Life had this to say of Cuomo's ignorant remarks:
"If he wasn't serious, it would almost be laughable that Governor Cuomo, who still advocates for no protective regulation on up-to-birth abortion, would consider the pro-life position to be extreme. New Yorkers stood up in force against his violent abortion agenda last year and, as a result, the Senate held the line against third trimester abortion. The facts speak for themselves. It's clear who is too extreme for New York, and it's certainly not the majority of New Yorkers who are opposed to expanding our already-extreme abortion law."
Catholics and others must not elect intolerant people like Cuomo.  This is what happens when we put into power ignorant individuals who discriminate against those who hold different opinions, in this case, the majority opinion.  I am still wondering why Cardinal Dolan has not excommunicated this clown.  He has no place in the Catholic Church while adhering to this views which are anti-Christ in nature.

As a New Yorker I can testify that New York is not a haven for the anti-American, anti-life and anti-morality.  Cuomo really does not understand or know New York.
