Mario Batali Admits to Sexually Harassing Women

Famed chef Mario Batali famous for wearing the same clothes daily and orange crocs has been accused of sexual harassment by several women.  They claim that Batali made sexual advances and comments to them while working in his restaurants. Ironically, Mario Batali made comments against those who harass women sexually in restaurants by saying:

“I think the reckoning is coming across the board. It is a time for women and men to face each other across the board, across the table."

Everyone who works with him is in shock at the allegations. Batali did not deny them either. He apologized to everyone in a statement:

“I apologize to the people I have mistreated and hurt. Although the identities of most of the individuals mentioned in these stories have not been revealed to me, much of the behavior described does, in fact, match up with ways I have acted. That behavior was wrong and there are no excuses. I take full responsibility and am deeply sorry for any pain, humiliation or discomfort I have caused to my peers, employees, customers, friends and family.”

Batali stepped down from his restaurant empire and ABC has removed him from The Chew program until the allegations were investigated.  I recently saw Mario Batali while in New York in my old Little Italy Belmont neighborhood.  He was walking from Addeo's bakery with a camera crew. Batali was recently featured on a television series with the Walking Dead's Norman Reedus' motorcycle series.

UPDATE: DECEMBER 15, 2017

ABC has fired Mario Batali from The Chew. They wrote on their Facebook:

"Upon completing its review into the allegations made against Mario Batali, ABC has terminated its relationship with him and he will no longer appear on “The Chew.” While we remain unaware of any type of inappropriate behavior involving him and anyone affiliated with our show, ABC takes matters like this very seriously as we are committed to a safe work environment and his past behavior violates our standards of conduct. – ABC Spokesperson"
