Priest Killed by Crucifix During Mass

A Priest Dies Under a Falling Crucifix in Ecuador: Facts, Mockery, and Why This Does Not Disprove God

On the evening of Saturday, October 17, 2026, Father Patricio Alfredo Sánchez Molinari was celebrating Mass at Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro (Our Lady of Perpetual Help) in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The Mass was livestreamed. He stood at the altar, facing the congregation, and had just delivered a sermon reflecting on the fleeting nature of life. Drawing on Jesus’ words, he urged people not to waste their days scrolling on phones but to give their best time to God and to their loved ones. “One day, all of us here will also die,” he said, “and sometimes the time we’ve spent on things doesn’t have as much meaning as the time we spend with God.”

Minutes later, a large wooden crucifix mounted on the wall behind the altar detached and fell forward, striking him on the back of the head. He collapsed. Parishioners screamed and rushed to help; the livestream captured their cries for an ambulance. The Archdiocese of Guayaquil confirmed that Father Sánchez Molinari, a member of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Redemptorists) and the parish priest, had died. A memorial Eucharist was held the following evening in the same church. He had been congratulated by the archdiocese only the day before on the anniversary of his ordination. He was about 53 years old and had previously served in Vinces.

Authorities and the Church have not publicly stated a definitive cause for the crucifix’s detachment. Reports note that church and police were looking into the mounting. Possible explanations include material fatigue, age of the fittings, vibration, improper installation, or wood deterioration—ordinary structural failures that can affect any heavy object hung on a wall. There is no confirmed evidence of an earthquake or deliberate act. The video shows a sudden, unheralded fall.

The footage spread rapidly on social media. Alongside genuine grief and prayers for the priest and his community, a familiar stream of mockery appeared: claims that “Jesus killed the priest,” that God is not real because this happened during Mass in front of the Blessed Sacrament, that the crucifix itself “proved” the emptiness of faith, or that the precision of the impact was somehow funny or damning. Some treated the tragedy as a dunk on Catholicism or theism. Others speculated about divine punishment. Such remarks are common whenever religious people suffer; they require little originality and less empathy.

These reactions fail for straightforward reasons. A crucifix is a wooden (and sometimes metal) object subject to the same physical laws as any other heavy fixture. Gravity, wood rot, failed fasteners, and material fatigue do not pause because someone is celebrating the Eucharist. Churches are not force fields. Priests, nuns, and laypeople have died in churches from falling objects, fires, structural collapses, lightning, and ordinary accidents for centuries. The same world that contains Mass also contains gravity and imperfect human craftsmanship. Pointing at a tragic accident inside a church and declaring “therefore God does not exist” is no more rigorous than pointing at a doctor dying of cancer and declaring medicine is a fraud, or at an engineer dying in a bridge collapse and declaring physics is false.

The symbolism is not the own some imagine. Christianity’s central image is the crucifixion: God incarnate suffering and dying under Roman execution. The cross is already a reminder of mortality, injustice, and redemptive suffering. A priest dying under a falling representation of that cross is horrifying and ironic in the ordinary human sense; it is not a logical refutation of the faith that treats the cross as the instrument of salvation rather than a lucky charm. Christians do not claim that church attendance or clerical status grants physical invulnerability. The New Testament and Church history are full of faithful people who suffered violent or sudden deaths, including in places of worship.

Why would God allow this—during Mass, in the presence of the Eucharist? This is a version of the problem of evil and suffering. Christian answers, classical and contemporary, do not claim that every particular tragedy is fully explained by human observers. They generally include several interlocking points.

God sustains a world of regular natural laws rather than constant miraculous intervention that would make ordinary human life and responsibility impossible. Those laws permit both life and death, both stability and accident. Free agents (and the secondary causes they create, such as poorly maintained fixtures) operate within that world. God permits suffering and death as part of a fallen order; Scripture and tradition treat them as real evils, not illusions, while holding that they do not have the final word. Jesus himself suffered and died; the Eucharist is the sacramental presence of the crucified and risen Christ. A death in his presence can be understood, in Christian categories, as a participation in his passion rather than a contradiction of it. Sudden death can also be a mercy: the priest had just preached precisely on the certainty of death and the value of time given to God. From the standpoint of Christian hope, he died in the exercise of his vocation, in the midst of the liturgy.

None of this makes the event less terrible for those who loved him or less shocking for those who watched. Providence does not mean every detail is painless or immediately intelligible. Romans 8:28 speaks of God working all things for good for those who love him; it does not promise that every intermediate step will look like good to us. Job’s friends were rebuked for claiming too much knowledge of why the righteous suffer. Isaiah 55:8–9 notes that God’s thoughts and ways are higher than ours. The Christian response is not to pretend the horror is fine, but to mourn, to pray for the dead and the living, to care for the community, and to trust that death is not the end for those who belong to Christ.

The priest’s own last recorded words already pointed beyond the accident: life is short, time with God and with people matters most. The mocking online comments miss both the human tragedy and the theological point. A falling piece of wood does not settle questions about the existence of God or the truth of the Gospel any more than a plane crash settles questions about aerodynamics. What it does is remind everyone—believer and skeptic—that we are mortal, that physical objects fail, and that whatever one believes about ultimate reality, the call to use one’s days well remains.

Protestant Critiques: “Punishment for Idolatry and Pagan Statue-Worship”

A distinct line of online reaction has come from some Protestant voices (especially certain evangelical and iconoclastic strains). They have framed Father Sánchez Molinari’s death as divine judgment for the Catholic use of statues and images, calling the crucifix itself an idol and the practice “pagan.” Comments along the lines of “this is what happens when you worship statues,” “the cross fell because God forbids graven images,” or “idolatry is punished” have appeared under videos and posts. The accident is treated as evidence that the Catholic Church is engaged in forbidden paganism.

This reading rests on a series of misunderstandings.

Catholic teaching has never equated the use of sacred images with the worship of idols. The Seventh Ecumenical Council, the Second Council of Nicaea (787), explicitly addressed the iconoclast controversy and defined the Church’s position. It taught that images of Christ, the Virgin Mary, angels, and the saints may be placed in churches and homes and given “due salutation and honorable reverence,” but that this is not the true worship (latria) that belongs to the divine nature alone. The honor shown to an image “passes on to that which the image represents.” The Council of Trent later restated the same distinction: images are retained and honored not because any divinity or power is believed to reside in the wood, paint, or plaster itself, and not as the pagans placed hope in idols, but because the honor refers to the prototype. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (paragraphs 2129–2132) repeats this teaching: the Christian veneration of images is not contrary to the First Commandment because it is directed to the person depicted, not to the material object.

A crucifix is a representation of the Incarnate Word—Jesus Christ, true God and true man—who suffered and died under a Roman cross. Depicting him is possible precisely because he took on a real human nature (John of Damascus’s classic argument). Honor directed through the image reaches Christ himself. That is not the pagan practice of treating a statue as a god or attributing independent divine power to carved wood. The Church has always condemned actual idolatry; the distinction between latria (adoration due to God alone) and dulia (the relative honor given to saints and their images) exists to prevent it.

The claim that the falling crucifix was divine punishment for this practice fails on several grounds. First, no official investigation has established the cause; the evidence points to a structural failure of the mounting—ordinary material fatigue, poor installation, age, or vibration. Interpreting a random mechanical failure as a targeted divine judgment requires an assumption that God specially intervenes to drop heavy objects on Catholics who use images while sparing everyone else. Second, the same logic is inconsistent: if God were in the habit of killing people for having religious images, one would expect consistent patterns across centuries of Catholic and Orthodox churches. Instead, accidents of every kind (fires, collapses, lightning, falling objects) occur in every kind of building, religious or secular. Third, Protestants themselves routinely use visual representations—illustrated Bibles, stained glass, pictures of Jesus, crosses on steeples and walls, Christmas nativity scenes. The difference is one of degree and theology of images, not a total absence of visual aids. Fourth, the priest was celebrating the Eucharist, the central act of Christian worship directed to God; the presence of a crucifix behind the altar is standard in the Latin tradition as a reminder of the sacrifice being re-presented.

Treating a tragic workplace-style accident inside a church as proof of “paganism” also ignores the historical record. The early Church used images; the iconoclast emperors who tried to destroy them were resisted by the broader Church, East and West; and the practice has been continuous in Catholic and Orthodox Christianity for well over a millennium. Accidents do not overturn defined doctrine or prove that a centuries-old distinction between worship of God and honor of images is suddenly false.

The more sober response remains the one already noted in earlier reactions: a poorly secured wooden cross came loose and fell. That is a failure of maintenance and physics, not a divine verdict on the legitimacy of sacred art.ts fail, and that whatever one believes about ultimate reality, the call to use one’s days well remains.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.

15th Sunday in Ordinary Time - He Sends Us Out

Today's readings are on being sent out by God.

In the first reading, we read of Amos who was simply a shepherd and dresser of sycamores or he prepared the fruit by puncturing it before the harvest so it can assist in the ripening process. Amos tells the priest of Bethel, Amaziah that he was no prophet and was never around them, yet the Lord took him from being a follower to going out and prophesying to the people of Israel (2 Chronicles 24:19). He would earn his bread via this work (1 Corinthians 9:6-7,14).
God's actions here are nothing new. We read last Sunday how God uses the weak (see: Sacerdotus: 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Persecution, Atheism & Hardships). By using the weak, a louder statement is made upon the world, so to speak. Would an educated and wealthy King speaking on behalf of God gather your attention more or would a young child who is disabled, yet speaks better than the educated do the trick?  The latter would since it is not expected that a young child who is disabled can do this.  This is why I have always stressed to altar servers I have trained, youth groups I have run, catechism classes I have taught, and other laypeople I have worked with that they should not worry as to whether they can evangelize or not. God tends to use the weakest and those who society deems "insignificant" to do His will (1 Corinthians 1:27).  Amos was just a shepherd and dresser of sycamores yet God called him to prophesy to the people of Israel. You reading this may be at home disabled, elderly, or perhaps young and feel like you cannot find a role in the Church; well, think again. God has a job for you (Jeremiah 29:11).  Pray to Him to see what it is (Jeremiah 42:3). Let go and let God, as the saying goes. Pray to God and ask Him to see His kindness as we read in the Psalm for today.

In the responsorial Psalm, we ask the Lord to show us His kindness (Psalms 36:7). We sit still in His presence and listen to what God proclaims (Exodus 33:14, Jeremiah 29:13).  This proclamation is of peace and calls us to salvation.  In God, kindness and truth meet. Justice and peace will kiss. God unites the good and casts away the bad. The truth of God will spring from the earth as His justice looks on down. As followers of God, He will give us His benefits which will bless our lands bringing forth an increase. In God, we will have justice because justice prepares His way.  All things submit to God. It is God who blesses us and bestows on us what we need as we read in the second reading.

The second reading tells us of how we are blessed in Christ. The word "blessed" comes from the old words "bledsian" or "blotham" which is spelled "blood" today in modern English. It is connected to the pouring and use of blood during rites of expiation in Pagan Proto-Germanic lands.  We are truly "blessed in Christ" who shed His blood for us on the Cross (John 3:16).  God chose us before the world began to be His, holy and without blemish (Jeremiah 1:5).  God in His love adopted us through His Son Jesus; we can call Him "Abba, "Papa," or "Daddy" (Mark 14:36, Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6).  In His blood, we are redeemed (Ephesians 1:7).  It is in this Christ in whom we will find the sum of all things and the fulfillment of life (Matthew 5:17, John 14:6).  There is no one else we can find this in, Christ is the One (Acts 4:12).  God also chooses us through Christ and sends us to live and proclaim the Gospel of salvation as we read in the Gospel reading.

In the Gospel, Jesus summons the Twelve and sends them out two by two.  He gives them authority over demons and tells them to go only with a stick, no food, no sack or money; just simply with sandals and a tunic (Exodus 12:11; Deuteronomy 8:2-4). St. Francis of Assisi centuries later would adopt the same thing. Unfortunately, the Order of Friars minor today has lost this beautiful imitation of Jesus' command.  We must pray for their renewal.  St. Francis understood Christ.  It is no wonder why our current Pope chose his name.

Christ commands the Twelve to visit homes. Whoever does not welcome them, Christ instructs His disciples to leave and shake their dust off their feet.  This would be a testimony against them showing that the home dwellers chose to adhere to the dirt of sin and did not want to be cleansed via God's grace (Nahum 3:6, James 1:21, Isaiah 57:20).  The Twelve did as He instructed and drove out demons, anointed with oil the sick, and healed them in His name.

We today are also called to go out and evangelize.  I remember my days in the "Boogie Down Bronx" where I and an old Puerto Rican parishioner would go out to evangelize in different neighborhoods, some of which are plagued with poverty and crime. We did this as Legionaries in the Legion of Mary. We visited homes and were welcomed in many of them. I got great joy seeing many of these people at Mass weeks later.  Some who were not Catholic became Catholic.  It was a great experience for me just about a year or so from leaving behind atheism. This was when Christianity as a "Church" was coming alive to me. I was still finishing some of my worldly studies.  Despite being unprepared fully, God guided me and my fellow legionary. He was older, and I was younger, but God did the work for us. Not once did we worry about being mugged, verbally insulted, or even killed. We went in God's name, guided by the Holy Spirit and encouraged by the Blessed Virgin Mary. Now, God has me doing this work of evangelization online as well. Like in the first reading, it is God who calls us to work in the vineyard (Matthew 20:1-16). We must not turn Him down out of fear or anxiety (Isaiah 6:8, 1 Samuel 3:4). God will be there and will guide us (Isaiah 58:11, Psalm 32:8). No one can do anything to us because we are with God (Romans 8:31).

However, times are a-changing. Christians are being persecuted even in America in 2015, the supposed "land of the free." We can expect to face harassment, attacked, sued, and maybe even martyred (Matthew 24:9. 2 Timothy 3:12). Being a Christian is not always "puppies and kittens." Nevertheless, do not be discouraged to go out there and evangelize (Psalms 96:3).  We must spread the Gospel everywhere (Mark 16:15). However, first, the Gospel must be preached in our hearts (Psalm 119:11, Deuteronomy 11:18). If we do not internalize the Gospel and the teachings of the Church, we will be useless. Our work in the Church will be focused on the self, instead of God and others because we have a tendency to put ourselves on pedestals when given a job to do and not be charitable to others (1 Corinthians 13:1).

When we do go out there to evangelize, if we are rejected, it is okay (Matthew 5:10-12).  Say 'thanks be to God' and walk away. As the youth say today, "it's all good."  If you encounter trolls on Twitter, Facebook, Google +, Myspace, or whatever network you use, do your best, do not lose your cool (Ephesians 4:26-27). If they insist on ignoring you or mock you, offer a prayer to God for them, respond with love, and walk away (Matthew 7:6). You did not fail, they did. God will find a way to get them (Romans 5:20). All is not lost (Luke 15:11-32, Matthew 18:12-14).

Today we must evangelize more than ever before. Evangelization must begin in ourselves first, then our families. The family is the "domestic Church" (CCC 1655-58).  This is why Satan is attacking the family constantly (Hebrews 2:14, Revelation 12:2-4). He fears the family that trusts in God (Joshua 24:15). Let us continue to spread the faith. Do not be afraid to do so!  Take me for example as that young guy fresh out of atheism going out evangelizing. Now I am doing it online as well.  I started not knowing anything about websites, blogs, podcasts, Google hangouts, etc, yet look at how God allowed all this to grow.  If God calls you to do something, He wills it.  If He wills it, then it will happen (James 4:15)!  We are called by the grace of Baptism to be priests, prophets, and kings (CCC 897-913).  Let us put these roles into practice.  God did not give us a cowardly Spirit (2 Timothy 1:7).  Unfortunately, many of our Church leaders took on a cowardly Spirit by closing down parishes and denying the Sacraments to the sick and dying during Covid 19 coronavirus. This was wrong on all counts even if done with the good intention of preventing contagion.  We must trust God.  May Jesus Christ be praised always!

Atheism Has a Suicide Problem

During the holidays, we tend to see atheists and atheist groups come out more strongly against religion. WHy is this? They are often quiet during the summer, fall and even during Easter. However, when Christmas approaches, we see caricature atheist groups like Freedom from Religion or American Atheists spend thousands of dollars carelessly on advertisements promoting religious bigotry. Instead of using the donations they receive from their sheep to help others, they waste it on hateful campaigns. The question remains: Why?  Why during this time?

It is not news that people often get depressed during the holidays. Memories of the past come back due to cues we get from the senses. The holiday music, decorations, cold weather etc all bring back memories. Atheists seem to experience something deeper. Some believe the onset of atheistic beliefs bring about atheism. When someone seems to think God is imaginary, this may affect his or her happiness since God is an image of goodness and love. Perhaps the memories of when they were a religious believer start to come back and make them feel remorseful. Then there are those atheists who feel targeted by overzealous religious folks who condemn them. In any event, atheism has a big suicide problem.

According to a study done in 2004, atheists and those unaffiliated with religion had the highest rates of depression and suicide. These individuals were young, unmarried, had no children, did not keep in contact with family and had no moral objections to suicide due to relativistic views. This makes sense. Atheists are often self-centered. They believe that they are somehow enlightened and others are not. To them, everyone else is indoctrinated with "delusions" and other ideas that are of the "iron age." However, then they realize that life without God and religion is meaningless, they begin to collapse psychologically. They become angry and bitter, easily triggered by anything good that is related to God. They become unhappy and want to spoil all the fun for everyone else. This is why we see them come out strongly during the holidays which is for many a time of great joy.

Atheism does not offer anything to the atheist. It is just diatribe against God based on misconceptions and an insistence on adopting ignorance as a rule of life. To the atheist, there is no objective truth or morality. It is a no-holds-bar scenario. Because of this, everything is arbitrary. All hope is gone in the atheist's life. Nothing matters anymore because there is no God in heaven and no judgment. To quote one of my former philosophy professors Massimo Pigliucci, "No one is keeping score above." We are all hardwired to believe in God and the afterlife. Once we break off this important evolutionary trait, our sense of humanity begins to fade. We begin to de-evolve back to simple primates seeking to survive at the expense of others and even our own selves.

Think about it. Which one is more hopeful:

A). Believing in God and that we may reach a reward in heaven by being good.

B). Not believing in God and believing that you die into oblivion.

If you chose A, then you will be more hopeful. You will do good and care for others because you will receive a reward in heaven.  Not only will you receive a reward, but you will also feel good about doing good deeds. We all know it feels good to help others. When you feed someone who is hungry, give company to an elderly or sick person, or make someone who is suffering smile, it feels good. You feel the "warm and fuzzies," so to speak. Life is worth living. There is a purpose to it. Instead of just being an organism eating, sleeping and eliminating waste, we have more to live for.

Now, if you chose B, you may still feel a sense of purpose and happiness. However, as you age and watch people die around you, your perspective changes. You start to wonder why even live. What is the point of waking up in the morning and engaging in societal rituals such as hygiene, nutrition, school or work? What is the point of having a family or even friends?  Why party? Why study?  If we are just going to die at any time and disappear into oblivion, what is the point?  Life becomes meaningless without God. It becomes hopeless. Despair sets in. An existential crisis arises when one is an atheist. I know this too well as a former atheist. I remember becoming a cold stoic adopting utilitarian point of view where choices in life were based on points or a calculus system. All that mattered was me. The homeless, uneducated, sick, unborn, elderly were meaningless to me because they were unfit. They failed natural selection and had to go so that the rest of us "fit" ones can survive.

So as you can see, atheism does nothing good for the mind. It is a disease that leads to empty hearts and minds. Once empty, depression and possibly suicide will follow. Life without God is meaningless. Instead of being sons and daughters of God, we become just mere atoms animated in space and time.

Google Censoring Religious Speech

Dear friends, I am once again being targeted for my religious speech, first, it was Twitter in 2013, then Facebook in 2015 and now Google Plus.

On Sunday night, as I was approving some comments that fell into the spam catch in one of my Google Plus communities and was also adding a "nickname," I then moved on to read some comments and replied to one.  When I tried to reply to a Protestant pastor, I got the message that my post cannot be posted.  I found that odd.  I figured it was the G+ app that was buggy.  When I logged on the PC, I got the message that my account was locked.  I was confused.  So I went to the email associated with the account and saw that google sent me an email claiming that I was posting commercial content which is not true.

I replied to them stating that trolls pretending to be atheists had vowed to falsely report me and that I did nothing wrong  In the reply, I included screenshots as proof which is right above.  Later on, I got an email stating that there was a problem with the name I provided.  The email asked me to either update my name or provide information on it.  I replied with information on my pen name "Sacerdotus" and explained why I use it.  Expecting all to be resolved, I checked again and no reply.  I emailed a few more times, a nothing.

Next, I decided to file an appeal using the link Google provides and received an email stating that I was in violation of their policies and had to remove "offending content."

As you can see in the video below, my content is religious with a few reshares from Science organizations.  In fact, my last "offending content" posted was me praying the Liturgy of the Hours and my reflection for the readings on the 21st Sunday of Ordinary Time.  Clearly, Google has a problem with religious speech.

I contacted the Catholic Lawyer's Guild but am hoping a lawyer who reads this post can contact me and help me pro bono.  I think Google needs to be sued for discrimination against Catholics/Religious accounts.  Also, it is not fair that they have an issue with my pen name "Sacerdotus," but do not take action against troll accounts using names such as, "Bacon Pope," or "Ellif D. Wulfe" which are not real names.

Moreover, Google has ignored my complaints about abusive trolls who impersonate me, harass me on a daily basis and threaten me.  It looks as if Google lacks a moral compass and see this as acceptable while classifying prayer and religious reflections on Mass readings as "offending content" triggering suspension  Now, my account says that it is suspended.  Here is the video I captured using Windows' 10 screen recording tool for Xbox.

As you can see, I show my profile and the content I post  It is religious in nature with a few reshares of science related articles.  I then show my activity log on Google Plus. As you can see there, my posts are not abusive nor offensive.  They are religious in nature.  Lastly, I show the emails I received and what I sent to them.   Watch the video and see for yourself that I am not making this up, nor exaggerating.  I am hoping people of all faiths will storm Google with protest just like conservatives did for @Nero (Milo). One of my Twitter friends is also getting Beitbart to cover this situation.  It is an affront to religious freedom and the Constitution.

Please contact Google to protest:

1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy,
Mountain View, CA 94043

Here are tweets showing how I have tried to reach out for help from Google employees and Google ignored.

UPDATE:  This is the message that comes out now.  They claim my name violates their policy, yet they keep "Annoying Orange," "American Scientist," etc up.  Clearly, they are discriminating.  Why does "Sacerdotus" violate their name policy and not the aforementioned or the many troll accounts out there using fake names?

UPDATE:  Google restored my profile on November 17, 2017.

Atheist Stalkers Lie Again

It seems my stalkers are still at it again after being warned and exposed.  They are now posting defamatory posts about me again.  The posts seemed to be in response to screenshots I posted of "Rosa Rubicondior's" funny trollish tweets. The screenshots were from her account; main one or a back up that she created when she was suspended. The screenshots clearly show the Tweet ID number showing they can be found via a tweet search.  Claims of them being fabricated are based on desperation and an attempt to become relevant again before the eyes of naive atheists and others who buy into their lies.

In any event, they fell for my trap. They are not smart enough to notice the baiting. :)
I will not refute their lies and expound on this situation here:

Fake Accounts Created by Me Claim Refuted:

The claim was made that I made fake accounts, yet no evidence is given.  In these blog posts, the names of these accounts are listed and my pseudonym is linked to them as belonging to me.  That makes sense right?  I make a list and then add someone and say those listed are accounts made by that someone so it must be true... give me a break.  No idiot would fall for that nonsense.
No evidence is given showing said accounts were created by me and are/were run by me. I mean seriously.. in order to do that they would have had to be present in my quarters when I allegedly created them!  It is clear that these accounts belong to them and were made as back ups or possibly even made so as to have something to link to me for malicious reasons.
This is not the first time these two have created other accounts, "Rosa Rubicondior" whose real name is Esther Harrison created several which I have logged here and reported them until they got banned, see:
http://www.sacerdotus.com/2014/08/warning-twitter-troll-again-with-2.html
http://www.sacerdotus.com/2014/05/warning-twitter-troll-again.html
http://www.sacerdotus.com/2013/10/warning-twitter-troll.html
http://www.sacerdotus.com/2013/09/rosie-permanently-suspended.html

So as you can see, "Rosa Rubicondior" has created more than one account of herself. The one in the tweet screenshots I posted is clearly one of her accounts as well based on her previous behavior of creating multiple serial bulk accounts.

Rosa Rubicondior & Ellif_dwulfe Lie About my Name:

Futhermore, both "Ellif" and "Rosa" insist on calling me by a name that is not mine despite my academic recorded posted here and another atheist completely destroying their claims using hard evidence.  Both "Ellif" and "Rosa" rely on conjecture to validate their false claims. No actual documents are presented linking me to the person they claim that I am.  Instead, we have screen shots of Myspace profiles that are now defunct as well as newpaper articles that do not even link "Sacerdotus" to any individual at all. Furthermore, an atheist took it upon himself to verify their claims and found them to be bogus.  He contacted the institutions mentioned and learned that no such person attended them.
See:
http://studiousatheist.blogspot.com/2014/07/fraud-rosa-rubicondior-suckers-atheists.html
http://studiousatheist.blogspot.com/2014/12/ellifdwulfe-rosa-rubicondior.html
http://studiousatheist.blogspot.com/2014/11/verifying-claims-by-ellif-rosa.html

The young atheist clearly showed that I am not the person both "Ellif" and "Rosa" think I am; however, he seems to think I am a priest in the United Kingdom due to an email posted on a parish website using my moniker.  I am currently trying to contact that priest who is being confused as myself to get a statement from him verifying that he is not me and I am not him.  Nevertheless, the rest of the information this young atheist posted is strong hard evidence showing that both "Ellif" and "Rosa" lied about my identity.

Ellif_dwulfe & Rosa Rubicondior Can't Answer a Skeptic's Questions:

In an interesting twist, this young atheist posted questions for both "Ellif" and "Rosa" like a true skeptic would, neither of them have answered them.. surprise suprise.  This shows that both "Ellif" and "Rosa" are not capable of answering these questions because their stories will not hold under scrutiny.

Ellif_dwulfe & Rosa Rubicondior + Confirming Our Identities on Webcam:

Now, I have even challenged both "Ellif" and "Rosa" to join me on either skype or Sacerdotus Hangouts in order to clarify our identities.  I invited them to join me on live so all can watch us show each other our passports.  This would clear who is who and show that the identity they claim is mine is false.  They along with the viewers would see my identity under the United States government.  As expected, both ignored the invitation.  They did this because they know that once I show my passport to them live and others see it, then they will be outed as liars.  So instead, they continue to play out their defamatory narrative while avoiding any attempt to clear the misidentication via webcam and passports.
See where I invite both to webcam live to clear our identities before the world:

Sacerdotus Expelled From Seminary Lie:

This claim is one of the strangest and was even refuted by a diocesan priest of the Archdiocese of New York.  "Rosa" claims that I was expelled from St. Joseph's Franciscan Seminary.  The problem here is that this seminary closed in the 1970's
see:
"Catholic priests, who came to the area ministering to the 19th century German and Irish immigrants, paved the way for establishment of St. Joseph's Seminary. In 1901, the Order of Friars Minor, Franciscans based in Patterson, New Jersey, bought a large boarding house property overlooking Callicoon Depot. There they built an imposing seminary, the largest native bluestone building in the area. From that time until the 1970s virtually every Franciscan in the Province passed through St. Joseph's Seraphic Seminary, either as student, as teacher, or both. Finally closing due to a drop in student enrollment, the complex was sold to the U.S. Department of Labor, which operates it as a Job Corps Training Center."

You can contact the Holy Name Province of the Order of Friars Minor in New York for verification of its closing since it was run by them.

Not only did the seminary close, but it closed before I was born!  So there is no way I could have attended a seminary that closed decades before I was born!  I would have to be a time traveler to do this.
Furthermore, the claim was made that the seminary was St. Joseph's in Yonkers; however, a Catholic priest who studied there during the time "Rosa" claims I went there verified that no one under the name she gives on her blog went there.
See:
http://studiousatheist.blogspot.com/2014/11/oops-rosa-rubicondior-lied-no.html

As you can see, a real Catholic diocesan priest stated that there was no seminarian at St. Joseph's seminary in Dunwoodie, Yonkers with the name "Rosa" and "ellif" give in order to misindentify and slander me.

Donations to Sacerdotus:

Now there are claims that I am a fraud and am scamming Catholics in regards to donations.  Again, no evidence is given for this.  I have made it clear that funds being raised are to maintain and expand the evangelization work I do under the moniker "Sacerdotus."  Catholics and others are not kept in the dark about this.  These funds are not to support me or help me in any form other than this evangelization work. Think about it:  How can I or anyone live off of $35,000?  That would be gone within months due to expenses (rent, taxes, food, clothing etc)  if it was to be used to live off of. Therefore, the claims both "Ellif" and "Rosa" are making are irrational and libelous.  My gofundme.com/sacerdotus page clearly lists what my plans are for the funds.  Recently, I even added a "wishlist" showing the equipment needed to expand "Sacerdotus Radio" and increase the subscription hours.
Academic Journals
"Ellif" claims that there is no reason I should ask for funds for access to academic journals and cites my access to my university system.  He is partially correct.  While I do have access to academic journals via my university system, I do not have access to theological journals since my (alma mater) university in New York City offers no theology degrees and is secular. So while I have no problem getting journals related to science, philosophy, history, or even law; I have no access in regards to theological journals, particular, Catholic ones.  So "Ellif" is misinformed and being malicious.
Books
As for publishing books, everyone knows this is expensive.  Book companies do not pay anything in regards to production so I do not understand where "Ellif" got this false idea from. Book publishing companies pay royalties AFTER a book is published and sells. However, an author is on his or her own in regards to paying for production and so forth especially at the beginner's level.  If book publishing was as easy as "Ellif" ignorantly claims, then everyone would be doing it now to make money.
The Real Honest Person
Catholics and others donate to my work because they see the fruits, know me personally or have talked to me on the phone or webcam.  They see me at work (evangelization) and know I am the real deal.  I do not sit back and write nosensical posts like "Rosa Rubicondior" does and then herd stupid naive atheists to her site in order to get clicks from ads.  "Rosa" was already outed for fraud by pretending to be a middle man for Oxfam.
See this post where Oxfam confirms that a donation was just made at the moment of confirmation. "Rosa" had lied and claimed she donated a year before and Oxfam made her look bad and indirectly outed her as a liar.
http://www.sacerdotus.com/2013/10/atheist-scam-alert.html

The real fraud here is "Rosa Rubicondior" who was using Oxfam to make money; lied about donating it and was directing atheists to click on ads on her blog via Twitter which is prohibited by adsense, see:
http://www.sacerdotus.com/2013/11/atheist-scam-ii-ad-sense.html

My Concerns:
All of this began when I invited "Rosa Rubicondior" to a debate.  She accepted and then began to dilly dally.  Her stalling became abusive leading to her suspension.  Because of this, she has hated me with passion.  "Rosa" had over 7,000 followers on Twitter.  This ia feat that is hard to do.  So, when she got permanently suspended after I contacted Twitter to complain about her abuse, I became public enemy number one to her.  She now spends her time writing libelous posts attempting to discredit me.  If she could, she would probably kill me and possibly even wishes my death.  This is how much this deranged woman hates me.
Other Trolls:
"Rosa" is joined by "Ellif" who defends her despite being proven wrong multiple times with hard evidence.   While these people are insignificant, I am concerned that since they love to lie and link people with names that this will hurt the reputation of the people they name as me.  I have ignored their blog posts opting not to ask for their removal out of respect for free speech which is possible, but in light of their continued abuse, then I have no other choice than to have Google, inc et al remove these blog posts as they clearly are in violation of blogger's terms of service.
"Hate Speech: Our products are platforms for free expression. But we don't support content that promotes or condones violence against individuals or groups based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, nationality, veteran status, or sexual orientation/gender identity, or whose primary purpose is inciting hatred on the basis of these core characteristics. This can be a delicate balancing act, but if the primary purpose is to attack a protected group, the content crosses the line.
Violence: Don't threaten other people on your blog. For example, don't post death threats against another person or group of people and don't post content encouraging your readers to take violent action against another person or group of people.
Harassment: Do not harass or bully others. Anyone using Blogger to harass or bully may have the offending content removed or be permanently banned from the site. Online harassment is also illegal in many places and can have serious offline consequences.
Copyright: It is our policy to respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement. More information about our copyright procedures can be found here. Also, please don't provide links to sites where your readers can obtain unauthorized downloads of other people's content."   Source:  https://www.blogger.com/content.g?hl=en

Closing:
Both have demonstrated their mental illness publicly and stalking tendencies.  How are they stalking you might ask?  Well, both have blocked me on Twitter and Google +, so in turn I blocked them.  However, as you can see on their blog sites, they still manage to get screenshots of my tweets and google+ posts indicating that they are using other accounts to stalk me.  This is disturbing indeed. Only a sick person would resort to such criminal behavior.
I have contacted Kent and Oxfordshire police regarding these individuals and will do so again.  There is enough evidence indicating their cyber harassment, defamation, libel, stalking and malicious intent to harm my character and my work.  If they want a fight, then they have one.  I will win this one because the evidence is on my side and I have many witnesses (both theist and atheist) of their abuse, defamation, libel, threats and stalking.
Please ignore these mentally ill demagogues.  Their only intent is to defame and discredit me using lies and conjecture.  As I have demonstrated above using multiple sources, their claims have been destroyed with hard evidence.  Moreover, I still wait for them to join me live on Sacerdotus Hangouts via You Tube to further destroy their attempt to pin a high school kid's name to me via the display of my US passport.

These accounts engage in targeted abuse which are one-sided as Twitter rules prohibit.  They organize just for the purpose of defaming and harassing me as well as those who befriend me. The individuals behind these accounts create serial bulk accounts for the aforementioned purpose and to stalk my every online action so as to fabricate new stories in order to slander me.

In closing, these individuals are liars and clearly see me as a threat as evident from the length they go through in order to discredit and slander me. Catholics and other Christians know me well, so do many atheists. Unfortunately, there are some atheists who out of a sense to feel as "part of the group," blindly believe these liars. I remind these atheists that skepticism is a staple in the atheist person. Without it, then you are just another "believer" of things without evidence.

Do not jump to believe lies posted about "Sacerdotus." Ask for hard evidence. Notice that none of these trolls do not even have a photo of me, yet they claim to know my full name, schools, seminaries etc. This is a clear red flag that their information is bogus. I warn you though.. any attempt to question these disturbed individuals will bring them to accuse you of being a sock puppet of mine. This is how they protect their lies by claiming that those who challenge the validity of their claims are really me using a different account. They will insist on this lie and will never even go on webcam to prove  the distinct identities of accounts in question in real time. Again, they are liars and will face the consequences for their libel.

15th Sunday in Ordinary Time - God Sends You

Today's readings are on being sent out by God.

In the first reading, we read of Amos who was simply a shepherd and dresser of sycamores or he prepared the fruit by puncturing it before the harvest so it can assist in the ripening process. Amos tells the priest of Bethel, Amaziah that he was not prophet and was never around them, yet the Lord took him from being a follower to going out and prophesying to the people of Israel (2 Chronicles 24:19). He would earn his bread via this work (1 Corinthians 9:6-7,14).
God's actions here are nothing knew. We read last Sunday how God uses the weak (see: http://www.sacerdotus.com/2015/07/14th-sunday-in-ordinary-time.html). This is why I have always stressed to altar servers I have trained, youth groups I have run, catechism classes I have taught, and other lay people I have worked with that they should not worry as to whether they can evangelize or not. God tends to use the weakest and those who society deems "insignificant" to do His will (1 Corinthians 1:27).  Amos was just a shepherd and dresser of sycamores yet God called him to prophesy to the people of Israel. You reading this may be at home disabled, elderly or perhaps young and feel like you cannot find a role in the Church; well, think again.

Unfortunately, the Order of Friars minor today have lost this beautiful imitation of Jesus' command.

The Twelve did as He instructed and drove out demons, anointed with oil the sick and healed them in His name.

We today are also called to go out and evangelize.  I remember my days in the "Boogie down Bronx" where I and an old Puerto Rican parishioner would go out to evangelize in different neighborhoods, some which are plagued with poverty and crime. I was still finishing some my worldly studies.  Despite being unprepared fully, God guided me and my fellow legionary. He was older, and I was younger, but God did the work for us. Not once did we worry about being mugged, verbally insulted or even killed.

Christians are being persecuted even in America in 2015, the supposed "land of the free." We can expect to face harassment, attacked, sued and maybe even martyred (Matthew 24:9. 2 Timothy 3:12). Being a Christian is not always "puppies and kittens." Nevertheless, do not be discouraged to go out there and evangelize (Psalms 96:3).  We must spread the Gospel everywhere (Mark 16:15). However, first the Gospel must be preached in our hearts (Psalm 119:11, Deuteronomy 11:18).

As the youth say today, "it's all good."  If you encounter trolls on Twitter, Facebook, Google +, Myspace or whatever network you use, do your best, do not loose your cool (Ephesians 4:26-27). If they insist on ignoring you or mock you, offer a prayer to God for them, respond with love and walk away (Matthew 7:6).

I started not knowing anything about websites, blogs, podcasts, Google hangouts etc, yet look at how God allowed all this to grow.  If God calls you to do something, He wills it.  If He wills it, then it will happen (James 4:15)!  We are called by the grace of Baptism to be priest, prophet, and king (CCC 897-913).  Let us put these roles into practice.  God did not give us a cowardly Spirit (2 Timothy 1:7).  May Jesus Christ be praised always!

Twitter Going After Abusers

Finally, it seems like Twitter, Inc. is waking up to the abuse on its network.  For far too long there have been people creating several accounts for the sole purpose to troll, harass, bully, defame and threaten people.  I myself am a target of some of these deranged people.  However, every time I notified Twitter's support of these abusers, the reports were mostly ignored.  On several occasions, I was the one suspended instead of the abusers.  Well, now Twitter is updating its system to be more efficient in stopping abuse.

Accounts engaging in abuse will be locked and will have to provide a phone number.  Moreover, they may be asked to delete a tweet before being allowed to return to Twitter.  While this is a good step, there is still more to be done.  I think Twitter should start showing location and IP information in the tweets of users.  If location information is given, then most likely abusers will refrain from engaging in abusive behavior because they can be located. I hope Twitter does more and actually bans abusive people from their network who only use Twitter to harass and defame others.

@Sacerdotus Restored by Twitter!

Thanks be to God, Our Lady, St. Therese and my supporters!  Twitter has restored my first and original account @Sacerdotus which was suspended in 2013 after it was falsely reported by Twitter Troll William Hounslow who blogs as "Rosa Rubicondior" on blogspot.com and other trolls.   Most likely they will continue reporting it.  I had people write to Twitter, and sent cease and desist letters to Twitter explaining that they were violating my religious freedom and free speech by suspending me just because of false reports.  There is no reason for Twitter to suspend accounts that tweet Catholic things, yet keep accounts that harass others, troll and defame.  It has to stop and if using the law is what it takes, then so be it.

I will update this post showing the evidence of the tweets and harassment I have received along with tweets that I sent and was suspended for so all can see that Twitter has a policing problem.  They suspend the victims and keep the abusers.  Moreover, I will most likely sue these Twitter trolls and the blogs who have libelous content against me and other people.  Friends of mine who work in the legal profession inform me that I have a case and can get monetary damages for the actions of these trolls regardless of their location.

Free Speech On Facebook, Twitter etc

Free speech is something we Americans value. Most of us would die for this basic right. However, when our Founding Fathers included this in the Constitution, they weren't thinking of social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Instagram etc.

They had in mind verbal speech and written speech via literature such as pamphlets which were popular at the time,  as well as books and the like.

Now that we're in the 21st century, free speech is in question again. Is what we post in the cyber world considered "free speech?"  This is what the Supreme Court of the United States of America will be deciding on in June of 2015.  A case involving a Pennsylvania man - Anthony Elonis - is in the works and being debated by the Justices.  This man was convicted and sent to prison for posting threatening posts or statements regarding his wife, FBI and police, as well as others.

According to Elonis, the statements or posts are "rap lyrics" and were not meant to be taken seriously.  Nevertheless, one can see how the words clearly depict threatening messages.   Justice Samuel Alito said of the defense, "This sounds like a roadmap for threatening your spouse and then getting away with it."

He has a good point!  How many times have harassing, threatening and libelous statements made online gone unpunished and led to consequences in real life?

I myself am being targeted by several atheists via Twitter, Facebook and blogs.

See:
http://www.sacerdotus.com/2013/11/help-remove-harassing-blogs.html
http://www.sacerdotus.com/2014/10/catch-wolf.html
http://www.sacerdotus.com/p/bounded-atheism.html

On Twitter, do a simple search for "Sacerdotus" and you will find the same accounts constantly bringing me up, claiming I am someone else or a collective of Twitter accounts and what not.  They are not shy about their libel and even promote it.

These people are mentally ill and use the apparent sense of anonymity to do these things.  This has been a big problem ever since the internet became public.  I remember AOL used to suspend accounts for harassment.  People often say things online that they will never have the nerve to say in real life.  This cowardice brings out these big bad trolls online who collectively harass others and many times go unpunished by Twitter etc.  Well this all can change if the Supreme Court clarifies how free speech applies to social networking.  I have been in communication with several law enforcement agencies from the United Kingdom as well as here in the United States regarding these people who are targeting me.  So far I have their IP addresses and other information, but will need more details after filing papers and forcing their ISP to hand it over in order to see what is the next step since IP addresses do change and are not static.

I support freedom of speech.  We all should say whatever we want, but we must remember that their are consequences to what we say.  If freedom of speech is used to disparage, slander and threaten others, then there has to be consequences.  These consequences are not censorship because you have a right to say whatever, but you don't have the right to dictate the consequences.  Nations should not have to police the behavior of its citizens.  Each citizen should know how to use the gift of freedom of speech intelligibly and in a way that is civil.  However, since some citizens don't know how to behave, then their speech must be penalized whenever it is used to violate another.

I truly hope the Supreme Court will set a precedent that will stop or prevent people from using freedom of speech as an excuse to harass and threaten others online.  In regards to the trolls targeting me, I will make an example out of them.

Twitter Trolls

  • Please avoid, block and report them as spam, save yourself the trouble.
  • Do not engage them at all. They just use twitter to harass, abuse and insult others.
  • We can get them all suspended.  It's not impossible to do.
  • Theists outnumber atheists. We have the power.

DO THIS:

Go to the hashtags:

Report each atheist account found on each hashtag.   Make sure you do it for ALL of them.

Also file a report for harassment and be very specific, show tweets that demonstrate a pattern of abuse.  Include links and the narrative.
Here are some examples

Scene 1: You are being stalked or mentioned. Write this:
"This/These accounts have been harassing me on your service. They stalk my twitter timeline and constantly abuse the reply/mention feature.  The accounts are in violation of your rules as found here: https://support.twitter.com/articles/18311.  In light of the abuse Zelda Williams and others have received, it is important that Twitter does something to stop abuse otherwise people will leave your service for one where they feel safe. Please suspend this/these accounts.

Scene 2: A group of atheists messages you and all tweet similarly. Make sure you report each and mention each in your report. Write this:

"These accounts (list each here) are harassing me and abusing your mentions feature. They are overlapping serial accounts who are tweeting the same thing to me.  They are in clear violation of your rules as found here: https://support.twitter.com/articles/18311.  Please suspend each of these accounts.

Scene 3: Atheists are calling you "Manny" or "Sacerdotus." Write this:
"The follow accounts are being abusive by attempting to place an identity on me that is not mine in order to cause disruption and an atmosphere of abuse and taunting.  Please suspend these accounts.

I will update this as more information comes in regarding atheist tactics.

See the video below on how to report for spam and file reports.  UPDATE DECEMBER 5, 2014: Twitter is changing how to make reports. See the video in their Tweet:

Comment on my sacerdotus.wordpress.com page in the comments on any post and I will give you a list of known abusive accounts.
We can get them all suspended easily.  Atheists do not have a great reputation in society as is.
