Pope Francis has so far been true to the name of the person he chose to honor in his Papacy: St. Francis. He now has a 'new' ride; a 1984 Renault given to him by an Italian Priest, Father Renzo Zocca. At first, Pope Francis did not want to accept the car citing that it should be used for the poor; however, Fr. Zocca replied that the car has been in service of the poor for years and it now needs a new use.
After hearing this, Pope Francis accepted the car. He then surprised all in particular, the security by taking the car for a drive by himself! Pope Francis, after taking the keys sat in the drivers seat and took off.
It seems the Pope has ditched using Mercedes Benz and other more expensive cars including the bullet proof 'popemobile.' He is an example to all of us. Material things must serve God and man, not vice versa.
