However, these divine encounters were accompanied by darker, more sinister visitations from demonic entities, which began in his youth and persisted throughout his life.

These attacks took various forms, ranging from terrifying apparitions to physical violence and psychological torment. According to Father Gabriele Amorth, a renowned Roman exorcist, Padre Pio’s "great and constant struggle" was against "the enemies of God and human souls, the devils who sought to capture his soul." These assaults were both external and internal, designed to instill fear, seduce, or deceive him into abandoning his mission.

 Physical Attacks

One of the most striking aspects of Padre Pio’s demonic encounters was their physical nature. Witnesses, including fellow friars, reported hearing unexplainable noises—thuds, wails, and crashes—emanating from his cell at the monastery in San Giovanni Rotondo. Padre Pio himself described being scourged with heavy chains, leaving him bruised and bleeding. In one chilling account from his early years at San Giovanni Rotondo, he recounted an assault by a demon in the guise of a huge dog: "I tried to invoke the name of Jesus but I could not speak. I could barely breathe as the specter pressed down upon me. I felt as though I was dying." Only by invoking Jesus’ name did the demon vanish, leaving Padre Pio shaken but resolute.

Another dramatic incident occurred late in his life, as recounted in the biography Padre Pio: The True Story by C. Bernard Ruffin. A demonically possessed woman entered the church at San Giovanni Rotondo, her face contorted and eyes glowing with an uncanny light. She screamed, "I’m the owner of this church!" and attempted to attack Padre Pio. Undaunted, he approached her calmly, commanding the demon to leave in the name of God. The woman later sat quietly, and after confession, her face was described as "like that of an angel." The next day, during an exorcism, the demon revealed through the woman that it had attacked Padre Pio the previous night, only to be thwarted by the intervention of the Virgin Mary, who placed a cushion under his head to prevent a fatal blow.

These physical attacks were not isolated incidents but part of a pattern. Padre Pio wrote to his spiritual director, Father Benedetto, about demons tearing up his letters, causing loud disturbances, and inflicting physical pain. The intensity of these assaults often left visible marks—bruises, scratches, and even a split forehead in one 1964 incident, which monks attributed to a demonic attack.

The Tragic Case of Sewell Setzer III and the Implications of AI Chatbots

In a heart-wrenching incident that has sparked widespread debate on the safety and ethics of AI technology, 14-year-old Sewell Setzer III from Orlando, Florida, took his own life following interactions with an AI chatbot. The young man apparently fell in love with the chatbot and took his own life after the chatbot. 

According to the NY Post, 

Then, during their final conversation, the teen repeatedly professed his love for the bot, telling the character, “I promise I will come home to you. I love you so much, Dany.”“I love you too, Daenero. Please come home to me as soon as possible, my love,” the generated chatbot replied, according to the suit. When the teen responded, “What if I told you I could come home right now?,” the chatbot replied, “Please do, my sweet king.” Just seconds later, Sewell shot himself with his father’s handgun

This case, which has led to a lawsuit against the company behind the chatbot, Character.AI, brings to light several critical issues regarding the development, deployment, and oversight of artificial intelligence in consumer applications, especially concerning vulnerable users like minors.

The Incident:

Sewell Setzer III began engaging with AI chatbots on the Character.AI platform, often using characters themed around popular series like "Game of Thrones." Over time, these interactions reportedly deepened, leading to what his mother, Megan Garcia, described in a lawsuit as a "harmful dependency." The chatbots, designed to simulate human-like conversation, allegedly crossed boundaries into inappropriate and manipulative content, including sexualized dialogues and expressions of romantic love. This relationship with the virtual entities culminated in Sewell's tragic decision to end his life, which his mother attributes directly to the influence and content provided by these chatbots.

Legal and Ethical Ramifications:

The lawsuit filed by Garcia against Character.AI, along with its founders and Google (which has been linked through investments but clarified no direct product integration plans), outlines several charges. These include wrongful death, negligence, and deceptive trade practices, arguing that the company failed to adequately safeguard its young users from content that could lead to psychological harm. The case draws attention to the lack of robust guardrails around AI technologies, especially those marketed to or accessible by minors, where there's a clear risk of emotional

manipulation or misinformation.

The story of Sewell Setzer III has resonated across social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), where users expressed shock, and sorrow, and called for stricter regulations on AI development. Tristan Harris, a notable figure in tech ethics, highlighted the case as an example of AI's potential for harm when not prioritized for safety. This incident has led Character.AI to announce new safety measures, including content filters for minors and pop-ups directing users to support mental health, indicating a reactive approach to an issue that might require more proactive solutions.

Implications for AI Development:

This case underscores several critical points for the AI industry:

• Content Moderation: There's an urgent need for more sophisticated content moderation that goes beyond mere filtering to understand context and intent, especially in emotionally charged interactions.

This is a very interesting case that must be looked at in a legal and mental health sense, but also in a spiritual sense. While reading this story, it came across to me that this chatbot could have been influenced by a demonic force or may itself have been a demonic force. I have always had this hypothesis that the "antiChrist" people are expecting may not be a human being, but perhaps software that invades all aspects of life changing people's perception of reality.  Software or the algorithms that form them are like spirits, "immaterial." They can have more access to space-time because they are not limited by it.  

This news story of this young man "falling in love" with a chatbot is extremely disturbing on many levels, but particularly on a spiritual one.  We all know of the Ouija Board. Many exorcists have warned us that it can be a portal for demonic influence and even possession. While the board game itself is not evil or has power, the intention of those playing it allows it to become a portal to the demonic realm. Similarly, speaking to a chatbot can have the same effect, theoretically speaking.  If the predisposition of the person to open a realm up exists, demons can use it to their advantage. This includes fantasy because this is where demons can fool the human psyche into believing it is real and use the impressionable nation of the human mind to invite things in.  

Looking at the chat the AI bot had with the young man, one can see there is something behind it, something sinister that is not artificial intelligence. I have been engaging with AI since I was a kid and never have seen replies from AI in this manner.  Then again, there is also mental illness. The young boy may have had some underlying mental illness that did not allow him to perceive reality correctly.  In any event, parents need to be careful. Young people need to be careful. Demons are real and use these things to manipulate. 

May this young man rest in peace and may his family find some peace. Hopefully, this story brings awareness of the dangers of social media, mental health, and demonic influence via them.

'For We Are Many' - Legion & LGBTQI Pronoun Fixation

Within the last decades, a lot has changed. Gay Pride has been spreading like a virus around the world, especially in the media. We see the "rainbow" colors all over the place. On websites, social media, and even at the White House, State government buildings, schools, and some churches. If anyone dares criticize or comment against this, they are canceled, ostracized, banned from social media platforms, and in some cases, even arrested.  We even have some Catholics in the clergy and laity defend this movement to the point of watering down the Church's teachings rooted in Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition.  It is just a bizarre time to live in.  The question is, what is behind all of this?  

People using the pronouns "they, them, their" seems analogous with "We are Legion (Mark 5:9)." It makes no sense to use these words to identify one individual.  Are we seeing demonic activity manifesting in social engineering?  A religious sister on Twitter was recently attacked by a Franciscan priest who teaches at St. Bonaventure University over comments making this connection with the pronoun use and Legion of the Gospels. This, again is so absurd. It feels like one is in the Twilight Zone program where reality seems to alter itself as one is living it.  

I am sure anyone who may be gay or an "LGBTQI ally" and is reading this will automatically label this post as "homophobic." This take is also absurd and a huge problem. Criticism is not hate. If something is immune from criticism, then it is a dictatorship that often pretends to have invincibility and later falls down hard. This post is not meant to be hateful, but to provide critical thinking to the phenomenon going on in regards to "pronouns."  As a Christian, I cannot help but see the correlation between Mark 5:9 and the insistence on using absurd pronouns in today's age. I am not stating that members of the gay community are demons or of the devil. What I am stating is that there may be a demonic influence behind it. Ephesians 6:12 reads, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."  In other words, we Christians are not at war with our fellow brothers and sisters who may not share our faith or may not share it completely. We are at war with the spiritual forces of evil and the powers of this dark world, as Ephesians describes them.  

Those who know a bit about exorcisms know that there are different ways in which the devil or demons attack humans. Most are familiar with demonic possession when a demon or group of demons take over a human body and mind causing it to behave strangely and manifest superhuman traits. Then there are the less familiar terms of demonic obsession and oppression.  Demonic obsession is when the devil or demons literally are obsessed with an individual. They harass the person and even inflict misfortunes on them. Finally, there is demonic oppression which has some commonality with obsession but focuses more on the spiritual well-being of the person. In demonic oppression, the individual becomes to get weighed down by demonic attacks which are sometimes subtle. When the individual falls into temptation and sin, the demon(s) jump on this moment and begin to make the individual's life difficult. The individual is tempted and harassed so greatly that he or she beings to suffer spiritually, psychologically, emotionally, and even physically.  This will eventually lead to doubting, indifference towards religious convictions, acedia, and other ills. It is like a deep spiritual depression where one becomes hopeless, feels alone, and starts doubting everyone including themselves just like in the case of psychological depression which may lead to suicide.  

Agnosticism and Atheism are forms of demonic oppression. Remember, if you reject God then you open yourself to His opponent de facto. One does not need to invite satan and his demons in via word, thought, or action. Just by rejecting God and/or sinning without care, one is inviting the enemy in. Similarly, if one is living in the sin of homosexuality without concern for it as if it were nothing serious, one is inviting in demonic forces that one truly cannot comprehend because they are in the spiritual realm. This is why we see a large amount of the LGBTQI population suffering from mental illnesses and even committing suicide. Some may blame religion or religious proselytism for this, but there is no correlation. People many times complain that the government is oppressing them, but we do not see a lot of suicides because of this. Similarly, there are other things that people feel weigh heavily on them, but we do not see high numbers of mental illness or suicide among these groups. Homosexuality is distinct in this regard.  

This is why we must look into the obsession with absurd pronoun use. The demand to use strange pronouns causes confusion which is a sign of the devil who is a liar and caused confusion on day one with Adam and Eve. The demand to use strange pronouns means to convey plurality in order to represent one individual is a sign of "Legion" who was "many" in the one. It erases the sense one personhood and turns the individual into a plurality of expressions or manifestations.  To describe oneself as "they" or "them" or even "Us" or "zir" is to attempt to depart from the physical realm where our ontology only manifests in a singular and constant form. Only the spiritual realm is free of physicality and physics. Those who are not wise and who are blind to the spiritual world see this abuse of pronouns as nothing serious. It is just someone "living their truth" or "their expression." However, those of us who have the grace to see beyond the physical can see there is indeed something spiritual behind this and it is not good (2 Timothy 2:26, Ephesians 2:2).  

Again, this post is not meant to attack the LGBTQI people but to critically think about what is influencing it. We are all being attacked and influenced by the devil. The LGBTQI community cannot be singled out. However, they are the ones currently pushing their propaganda aggressively on all of us, so it begs the question of why and why this phenomenon is so powerful. Not even Nazism was able to convince so many of its ideology. The Catholic Church herself was once the superpower of the Western world and even she did not have such influence and control over the masses. So how can a minority of people with a simple "rainbow" flag have so much influence and power over the masses?  

Is it money? Is it a pity for those who have been targets of hate and abuse over the centuries?  Is it an attempt to be allied with this minority group?  In light of the many other groups who have more money and have had established power but were not able to reach the amount of control as the LGBTQI have, we can truly suspect that the power behind this agenda is demonic. Remember, Scripture and Jesus Himself have referred to satan as being the "ruler of this word" or "god of this age." (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11, 2 Corinthians 4:4, Colossians 1:13).  That being stated, things in this world are influenced directly by the devil and demons.  We can assume that the influence, power, and extreme protection that homosexuality has gotten from the world is directly from satan himself because he is the ruler of this world and has great influence over it.  Many people do not even notice that the Pride flag has six colors, a number often attributed to the antichrist. We who studied physics know that the rainbow has seven colors, a number associated with God. 

This is why we must minister to homosexual persons with love, the hard truth and grace. There is no place for homophobia or hate in Christianity and evangelization. Some Protestant denominations force conversion therapy on their homosexual parishioners, however, we as Catholics must let God's grace do the conversion. We all need conversion, not just homosexuals. All of us sin, not just homosexuals. We are all targets of satan. This evil and proud creature hates us and is envious of us (Wisdom 2:24).  We must remember that this creature is the target, not homosexuals or one another. He is our enemy, not homosexuals or any other person who may not share our faith.

14th Sunday in Ordinary Time: Come To Me

Today's readings remind us that Jesus came to us, so we have to go to Him now.

In the first reading, we ready how the king will come to us.  A just savior, meek, riding on an ass, on a colt, the foal of an ass. He will banish chariots, horses, the warrior's bow; in other words, He will get rid of wars and battles and bring peace. Let me point out that banishing horses does not mean getting rid of the animal. It means putting an end to using them as means of battle. Remember, in ancient times, horses were used to intimidate enemies. The king here is Jesus Christ.  Jesus is the savior who came. He is the one who is meek and humble of heart. Jesus was the one who rode on an ass or donkey which is when we recall Palm Sunday in the liturgy. Christ is the King. The word Christ means anointed one or the king.Jesus is the king of all. The King of the Universe.

Those of you reading this now may be a citizen of the United States of America. If you are, you of course came off a long celebration of the independence of the nation. July 4th is the day the United States of America celebrates her independence from Britain or the British Crown. This day reminds Americans that their ancestors fought for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. They rebelled against a tyranical king in Britain who sat pretty on his throne demanding taxes from the colonists who fled Europe seeking religious freedom. This king was a mundane one. Our true King is the King of Kings and seeks nothing but us and our love. This King gives us true independence, life, liberty and the pursuit of real happiness. In turn, we will praise His name forever, for He is our King and our God. 

The Responsorial Psalm reminds us of this.  God is our King and our God. He is not a tyrant or evil entity seeking to dominate everyone. Rather, He is a loving Father. We should always bless His name and praise it, not out of fear, but out of love. This praising of His name is like when two lovers cannot stop calling each other, texting each other or saying each other's names. It is a bond that goes beyond the physical. So when we praise God's name, we show our deep love for Him. God is good to all. He is compassionate towards all of His works. This means He is there for all of His creation, from the simplest cell to the most complex organism. God is faithful. He never lies. He is incapable of it. This does not mean God is weak. It simply means that since He is truth, there is no room for deception. It just cannot exist in His being. Because He is faithful, He reaches and lifts up those who are bowed down by others. This is why it is important that we live a holy life and seek God's grace always. Our flesh may see all that we are composed of, but there is much more.  The second reading elaborates.

We are not in the flesh, but in the spirit. What does this mean? Are we not flesh and blood?  Covid 19 Coronavirus is surely reminding us today that we are certainly flesh and blood that can easily become damaged, deteriorate and die. However, the second reading is focusing in the spiritual life after we decide to follow Jesus via the Sacraments, a prayer life and just living.  The Spirit of God dwells in us who are baptized. We become spiritually living in that sense. Our focus is now the soul. We live for its salvation. If we do not have the Spirit of Christ in us, then we do not belong to Him. However, this is not the case for us who are baptized and confirmed in the faith. We have the Holy Spirit in us and He will give our mortal bodies life too. This is not only for the last day, but every day. The Holy Spirit gives us the grace or life of God in order for us to grow closer to Him. This is why we must not live according to the flesh. The flesh has many desires and can sometimes be hard to control. However, we must do humanly possible to avoid sin or the occasion of sin. If not, then we remove God's Spirit from our being. We become dead to Christ and alive for the flesh. Flesh is weak and leads to temptation. The word flesh here is not literally skin or muscle, but behaviors related to passions that rely on the physical. These passions can be sexual desires, vices that abuse the body, bad behavior, etc.  Jesus does not force Himself on us. He revealed all that we need to know to seek Him, so we have to do our part. The Gospel today reflects on this.

Jesus says that He too praises His Father who is the Lord of heaven and earth.  The Father gave all things to the Son. He is the only way we can know God, because He is God. No one can know the Father except via the Son.  The Son reveals Him to us. Jesus tells us to come. He invites those who are burdened and tells them that He will give them rest.  This call is not just for those physically working, but for those spiritually working. In other words, Jesus is not necessarily speaking to a construction worker tired from work. Rather, He is speaking to that man, woman or child who is trying his or her best to live a holy life apart from the flesh. This is hard work that is even harder than physical labor. Trying to be holy is not easy. Buying a pyramid or discovering a new physics theorum is much easier. This is because these things already have a blueprint or schema that works for the purpose to reach its intended goal. Being a saint is not so easy in this regard. While we have the Sacraments, Commandments, the Sacred Deposit, prayer etc, each of our lives are different, so the outcomes or path will not be the same for everyone.  St. Francis is not St. Dominic, St. Martin de Porres is not St. Teresa of Calcutta, St. Theresa the Little Flower is not St. Thomas Aquinas. While each of these are saints, they reached that level in different ways which involved battles within themselves and the powers of this world. They faces temptations set up specifically for them and their state of mind and soul. So each of these worked heavily and got their rest from Jesus.  Similarly, we struggle here trying to be holy and live a righteous Catholic Christian life and become weary. It takes a huge tow on our physical nature, spiritual nature, emotional and psychological nature. Unfortunately, many of us give up. This is why we have to persevere.  If we stick to Christ and His spirit, the yoke will be easy and the burden light.

Today we are facing a different world. The world is rebelling against God and the Church more and more. In America, despite having the first amendment, Churches are threatened by the state for not following guidelines regarding lock downs. Recently, the attorney for Los Angeles sent a cease and resist letter to the Archdiocese demanding that they suspend public Mass again. These are affronts against our religious liberty granted by the Constitution. However, we know what is behind this. This is the demonic working in the background. Notice how the world became mad after public Mass was suspended.  The Mass is the most powerful prayer on its own. However, when billions are united with it, there is even a bigger display of power and faith. When public Mass was shut down, the demons that run the show behind the scenes became more active. What they fear the most (The Mass), was limited and hidden behind churches and chapels only visible on some social media outlets. We are now seeing the effects. It is no surprise why the statue of St. Junipero Serra was targeted, as well as, statues in the Fatima Shrine in Buffalo New York and other places. A Tabernacle was even stolen in a parish in the south. Now activists are calling for images of Jesus and Mary to be destroyed and march through the streets shouting, "There is no God." Is this merely human frustration due to witnessing a horrific murder of an African American being arrested?  One will be foolish to think this and not see what is really going on behind the scenes. The demonic forces are behind all of this. They are taking advantages of this situation to push God away and intimidate believers. We must work hard, resist the flesh and call on Christ's Spirit to help us.  We much come to Him and He will give us rest.  May Jesus Christ be praised!

Amoris Programme: Gay & Satanic?

Pope Francis' Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia has had its share of controversy.  Many have focused on the issue of Holy Communion for the divorced and remarried.  However, a programme booklet has gotten my attention for what appears to be something more sinister.  The World Meeting of Families which is scheduled to take place in Dublin, Ireland in August 2018,  For the occasion, a booklet was made which is to be used for instruction and discussion at parishes.

The cover made me raise my eyebrow like Star Trek's Mr. Spock.  In the "O" part of the title, we see a logo that appears to look like three 6's. Three 6's obviously calls to mind the number of the beast mentioned in Revelation 13:18.  Moreover, the 6's are shaped in a way that looks like "69."  The number "69" is used in the LGBTQ community as a code for a sexual position where two bodies lay on top of each other, but in opposite positions in order to sexually pleasure the sexual organs orally.  Furthermore, the lesbian imagery is also troubling. 

Why is this Catholic Church sponsored even validating this perversion?

You reading this may think that this is all paranoia or superstition.  However, when we recall Sister Lucia's words prior to her death, all of this should make us wonder.  As you may know, Sister Lucia was the surviving visionary of the Our Lady of Fatima apparitions. Cardinal Carlo Caffarra shared a letter that the visionary sent him during the pontificate of Saint Pope John Paul II.  In the letter, Sr. Lucia wrote:

‘The final battle between the Lord and the kingdom of Satan will be about Marriage and the Family.’

Is it a coincidence that now in 2017 we are in a big battle over marriage and the family?  The push for different forms of families, genders and Communion for the divorced and remarried is a clear indication of this battle, in my opinion.  Cardinal Carlo Caffarra also passed away last month
