GOP Debate 2015

The first debate among Republicans at Quicken Loans Arena had just ended and it was the talk of social network.  An earlier debate was held with Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Governor Jindal and others who were not chosen for the main debate had their chance to present themselves. In that debate, Santorum came off a bit weak, Jindal seemed scripted and Perry flubbed by saying Ronald Raven instead of Ronald Reagan. The only one who was poised, calm and addressed the issues directly was the only female candidate, Carly Fiorina.

In the main debate event, Trump raised his hand to a question asking if anyone present would not run as an independent nor support the Republican nominee.  He received boos from the audience for this. Many worry that he will cause Republicans to lose the debate by running as an independent. Rand Paul then interjected attacking Trump criticizing his donations to Clinton and other politicians. It seemed Rand Paul was trying to get Trump and Chris Christie to lose their temper since he would do something similar later during the debate. During an exchange, Rand Paul interjected as Trump had finished speaking on Obamacare and Trump replied, "I don't think you heard me. You're having a bad time tonight."

Jeb Bush who is expected to be the nominee came off as pale and insecure in his replies.  He stuttered a lot and was meandering in many of his replies. Both Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz were more articulate and kept their temperament in check. Chris Christie also did well but was caught off guard when Rand Paul told him that he hugged Obama and he could go hug him again. Mike Hucklebee was also good, but he came across as too theocratic.  John Kasick of Ohio was meandered a bit, and seemed to be wishy washy on same-sex marriage and took advantage of the fact that the debate was in his home state. Ben Carson did not address questions directly and was too docile.  However, he gave some nice replies regarding divisions, race, and a funny closing. Scott Walker reinforced his views that he is pro-life and was the first to defund Planned Parenthood. However, he was not strong in other areas. Donald Trump was bombastic but toned down a bit. He was clearly unprepared and just repeated the same things he had since first announcing his candidacy. Rand Paul was a bit scripted, raising his voice to get attention but really did not present any plans. He seemed to be the one looking to attack others on the panel.

I was hoping to see a better debate. Much was expected from Trump, but he seemed to have bombed. Chris Christie was also not "himself" on the debate. I was expecting him and Trump to go at it at some point, but nothing happened.  The debate was too controlled by moderators. Some candidates were focused on more than others, and not all received the same questions.  The audience was left wondering where the candidates who were not asked specific questions stood on issues mentioned those questions. The debate broke network news history by being the most watch.  It had over 25 million viewers.

Selling the Social Soul

Today we are seeing a wave of strange ideas being passed into law.  From the legalization of mock marriages with same sex couples to the legalization of psychoactive drugs once thought of to be bad; the nation seems to have gone into the "Twilight Zone."

A few months ago, New Jersey's governor Chris Christie broke his integrity by calling off his state's appeal against a ruling that legalized so-called "gay marriage." He sold himself to a tyrannical minority subculture which seeks to undermine what has held society together since man walked the Earth. Like Judas, he out of despair of losing an upcoming election and greed to keep votes, sold himself in order to win favor with those on the wrong side of reason, morality and history.

Unfortunately for him, this transaction has backfired for he is now facing scandal after scandal. It is said that when one makes a deal with the devil all seems to go well and then that changes.  The devil is a liar and will not keep his promises. This is why Christ's temptation story is important. Christ was offered all in exchange for His renunciation of God the Father's plan.  Christ of course said "Go away Satan!" (Matthew 4:1-11)  Later on in His ministry, Christ asks "what will man gain if he loses his soul and gains the world?" (Matthew 16:26)  Governor Christie gained reelection with his betrayal against traditional marriage and now has lost himself in scandal after scandal.

Moreover, California is suffering its worst drought ever in its history.  Wildfires have claimed many areas and have left officials trying to figure out how to fight them.

While these fires are common in the state, the last few months have presented the state with fires that are extremely difficult to fight and which are more powerful than those of years ago.  Many structures have been burned down to ruins while religious structures have remained untouched.

As you may know, prop 8, or the ban on so-called "gay marriage" which was voted into law by the people of California was struck down by the Supreme Court for not being represented by the "right people," so to speak.  Immediately following this reversal, the fires and drought came.

We know from Scripture that God used fire to punish the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah for their immorality, in particular homosexual behavior which went so far that it disrespected the angels who accompanied Lot and his family (Genesis 19).

If that is not enough, most of the northeast has legalized so-called "gay marriage" and since then have face some of the worst storms on record. They have been getting hurricanes and snowstorms after snowstorms as well as temperatures that are unheard of.

"The LORD is slow to anger but great in power; the LORD will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet."  Nahum 1:3

Moreover, the entire United States experience cold temperatures that are not typical for its position on the Earth.  Even Miami, Florida known for its year round 80 degree weather went down to below freezing.

"See, the storm of the Lord will burst out in wrath, a whirlwind swirling down on the heads of the wicked."  Jeremiah 23:19

Is God warning us?  While we as Catholics believe in the Divine Mercy, we must also remember that God is just.

St. John Vianney had this to say:
"In fact, my children, it is sin that brings upon us all calamities, all scourges, war, famine, pestilence, earthquakes, fires, frost, hail, storms - all that afflicts us, all that makes us miserable." (Chapter 14 paragraph 8)
Nature rebels when sin gets out of control. Nature ever since the fall has waited in frustration for the holy ones to rise up and bring about God's redemption and glory. (Romans 8:19-23)

St. Faustina wrote about an angel sent to punish a city in her diary:

"I saw an Angel, the executor of God's wrath... about to strike the earth...I began to beg God earnestly for the world with words which I heard interiorly. As I prayed in this way, I saw the Angel's helplessness, and he could not carry out the just punishment...."

Let us pause and reflect on what is going on.  Is it worth it selling the social soul to the dark side? Let's get America's soul back from the evil one.  Who's with me?

The Blimp full of Hot Air

Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey is known for his "in-your-face" attitude and refusal to budge on any of the issues he holds a solid opinion on.  Well on one particular one, he broke his integrity as a leader.

After vetoing many bills promoting the legalization of so-called "gay marriage," Christie dropped his state appeal against a ruling given by Judge Mary Jacobson allowing gay couples to marry in New Jersey making it the 14th state to allow this atrocity.  Christie's decision may be a surprise to some but not to those who are politically savvy.

Christie is up for reelection in the state and has a strong vocal opponent in Barbara Buono.  She has called Christie on his views against so-called "same sex marriage" in an attempt to make herself the viable modern candidate that New Jersey needs.  Christie is trying to get votes from everyone, even gays and liberals in a largely democratic state.  By doing so, he has shown himself to be hypocritical, dishonest and lacking of integrity for changing his position along the way, so to speak.
Christie is a 2016 presidential contender and has disappointed many republicans as well as those who want marriage defended and protected.  He has demonstrated himself to be the typical politician who lies to get elected and does not hold onto his values.

It is a sad time for New Jersey now and will be for America if this guy becomes president.

NJ Judge Okays Gay Marriage

On Friday, judge Mary Jacobson ruled that New Jersey must allow so-called "Gay Marriage" starting October 21st.  Once again, judicial activism is attempting to bypass our republic by making laws via autocracy.

This is scary indeed.  Why have elections and representatives if a single judge can decide what is law in our states?

Governor Chris Christie has vowed to fight this in court by appealing to a higher court.  Hopefully, this irresponsible ruling that is an affront to our legislative process will be knocked down and this judge removed from the bench.

There is no place for judicial activism in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave!  Our Founding Fathers came together to formulate a government whose power would come from the people.  This government cannot become a monarchy or dictatorship.  For this reason, 'checks and balances' exists so that no branch of the government can have too much power.  Having a judge decide what is law is wrong and contrary to the wishes of our Founding Fathers.

Chris Christie Crushes Gay Marriage

A few hours ago Governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie went through with his promise to veto any bill presented to him that will allow so-called "Gay Marriage."   He insisted that the vote should go to the people by way of ballot.

The media often makes it seem like every American is for so called "Gay Marriage," but this is just not true.  The majority of Americans favor the protection of marriage between a man and woman.

I applaud Governor Christie for being a valiant man who kept to his decision despite knowing that the liberal media will come down on him.  Already news articles, blogs and the like are labeling him as an archaic out of touch governor.  The comments on news blogs are filled with angry attacks targeting Chris Christie's weight and the like.

These people are tolerant of unnatural unions, but are intolerant of obese people... go figure.
