We all have heard of Batman - a billionaire who takes on a vigilante role - well Eric of Philadelphia has taken upon himself the role of bus vigilante in regards to cell phones.
The Cell phone may be a cool item, a cool accessory that was once a luxury but now almost everyone has one. It keeps us connected to social sites like MySpace, Facebook, Twitter; we text, use Aim, Yahoo. MSN, Meebo or ICQ on it to keep in touch. We email on it, even do work or homework on it. However, these devices have been both a blessing and curse.
On buses while going to and fro, we become aware of everyone's business. From day to day gossip, fights, crushes or marital problems. We all hear the conversations loud and without reservation. They are in one word: ANNOYING!
Well Eric seems to have a good idea. He uses a cell phone jamming device to bring peace and quiet on the bus.
Maybe parishes should get this device to keep Mass quiet. :-)
