CERN Study: Universe Should Not Exist

Most of us have looked up at the night sky and have enjoyed the majesty of the cosmos. Astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson has even created a catch phrase by saying, "keep looking up!" The Bible itself says that the heavens reveal the glory of God (Psalm 19:1).

One does not need a telescope to know how awesome and beautiful the universe is.  The fact that the universe is not something that exists apart from us, but, is in fact, part of us makes it even more amazing.  The atoms in our bodies are the same as those that make up the Sun, Moon and the Earth itself.  These atoms are the same that make up water, gold, air, soil, other stars and galaxies and so on.  However, why do these atoms take different forms? Obviously, the number, mass and charges of the particles explain this; however, the question why remains.

Scientists at CERN are wondering the same about the exitence of our universe. A new study led by Dr. Smorra has tried to figure out why the universe even exists. In the beginning of the universe, there was matter and anti-matter.  These two things annihilate one another upon contact.  However, they somehow remained stable enough to allow for our universe to form and exist.  How is this possible? This is where physicists are stumped.  The universe's existence does not make sense. Based on what we know, this universe should have imploded within seconds after the big bang took place. Physicists have found a perfect symmetry that exists between matter and antimatter.

Some physicists theorize that both forms of matter have different gravitational polarities.  Matter may have gravity that pulls things downward while anti-matter pulls things upward. This seperation of forces may account for the stability of the universe as it exists today. In order to learn more about this, CERN scientists are studying anti-protons to see if this hypothesis is correct.

I touch upon the perfect formation of our universe in my book "Atheism In Stupid." Many atheists disqualify God as the primal cause of our universe. They claim that random natural processes account for the creation and maintenance of the universe.  However, as the study by CERN shows, our universe simply does not make sense as existing simply on blind laws via random natural processes. There is an order to the universe; a mathematical order that can only be the product of intelligence.  The existence of our universe simply does not make sense due to the fact that anti-matter and matter exist and did not cause the universe to annihilate itself. We see the antropic principle at work, or the idea that our universe was formed to house life in a perfect order.
