'Grimm' Decision for Transgender Student from SCOTUS

The Supreme Court has just given the transgender community a big blow.  It decided not to hear the case of transgender student Gavin Grimm who is a girl who thinks she is a boy.  Grimm is currently receiving hormonal therapy in order to appear "boyish" and changed her name.

The nation's highest court sent the case back to a lower court after the Trump administration rescinded Obama's order which allowed students to use the bathroom of their choice (see: http://www.sacerdotus.com/2017/02/trump-removes-obamas-bathroom-policy.html).

Lawyer Kerri Kupec who is defending parents, schools and the state from the Alliance Defending Freedom stated,  “The first duty of school districts is to protect the bodily privacy rights of all of the students who attend their schools and to respect the rights of parents who understandably don’t want their children exposed in intimate changing areas like locker rooms and showers." The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals had ruled last year that Grimm had the right to use a public restroom.  However, her school district did not allow her to use the locker room. This was unacceptable to Grimm's lawyers.

Today's Supreme Court decision is being praised by parents and others who are worried for the privacy and safety of their children.  As one can imagine, allowing boys into the girl's restroom or locker room can be dangerous, and vice-versa.

Trump Removes Obama's Bathroom Policy

President Trump has rolled back Obama's policy allowing transgender students to use the bathroom of their choice on the federal level, leaving it up to States to decide what to do.  The policy had come under fire from parents and others worried that their children would be victims of abuse, rape or voyeurism.  Any boy can say he is a girl just to get access to the girl's locker room, bathroom and/or showers. This is dangerous indeed!  Attorney General Jeff Sessions agreed with Trump's decision citing that Obama did not make a sufficient legal case to allow such a policy.

Many are mentioning Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 which states: "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."  The problem with using this federal law is that the law mentions "sex," not gender.  Activists for gender theory argue that gender and sex are not the same things, therefore, this law is not applicable to those with gender dysphoria.  Hopefully, Trump's policy will remain intact. Many parents are concerned about this issue.

Transgendered People Can Use Any Bathroom In NYC

Mayor of New York City, De Blasio has signed a bill allowing transgendered people to use any bathroom they wish.  If a male who identifies as female wants to use the women's bathroom, now he can and vice versa.  This act is another push for strange progressive ideas on the part of De Blasio on the Big Apple.  De Blasio made it clear that he would do anything to promote the LGBT agenda.

This new act has been criticized by many people including parents who are concerned what might happen when children enter restrooms and a person claiming to be of the opposite sex enters.  It is a recipe for disaster.  Those concerned need to write to their council men to get this thrown out. Threats must be made against their political careers.  New York City is being run by an administration which has no concern for social welfare.

De Blasio focuses too much time on these things rather than addressing the spike of slashings around the city. Over 500 cases have been reported showing an increase of attacks against citizens.  Despite this, De Blasio continues in denial claiming that the city is safer than ever before.
