Women's Day: A Day Without Women

Today is International Women's Day, a day meant to celebrate the opposite gender in the human species. However, activists hijacked the day with the hashtag #ADayWithoutWomen or #DayWithoutWomen where they encouraged women to avoid going to work and schoool in an attempt to show the world how much women are needed.  The attempt was an epic failure just like with the #ADayWithoutAnImmigrant day. Many women cannot afford being absent from school or work.

Those that did take to the streets were not much. Just about a thousand gathered in Manhattan and protested at Trump's hotel. There were several arrests.  Among the arrested was Linda Sarsour, a Palestianian progressive political activist who supports Sharia law, according to several Conservative sources.

Last night, the Statue of Liberty in New York City experienced a power outage. Some interpreted this as a "sign" of some sort as if the Statue herself was making herself absent from society in support of women. Others felt it was a staged event.  In reality, workers at the statue failed to reset the power system which in turn caused the outage.  More outages are expected as workers fix damage done by Hurricane Sandy.

At the Vatican, "Nuns on the bus"  Simone campbell participated in an interview where she blasted the Vatican male curia for focusing more on power.  In the end, we all survied "a day without women" just like we survived "a day without immigrants."
