A Catholic priest in Connecticut is rebuked for having a role in his cousin's so-called "same sex wedding." The rebuke will be on the priest's record permenently. Rev. Michael DeVito, of Sacred Heart Church in Suffield read at the 'wedding' and wore a roman collar. This has upset many Catholics as well as the Archbishop of Hartford, Connecticut.
Archbishop Mansell of Hartford said that his presence gave an implicit Catholic Church-support for so-called "gay marriage." Reverend DeVito has stated that he will not participate in any such events again.
What was Father DeVito thinking? As a Catholic priest he represents Christ and His Church. He cannot participate in ceremonies that mock the Sacrament of Marriage.
