Bible Verse Argument Leads to Murder

"Thou shalt not kill," and "love your neighbor as yourself" are verses in the Bible most of us are aware of.  The Bible is referred to by many as the "Good Book." However, something good has been used for evil.  A college student from Georgia named Jacquell Smith was gunned down by his friend Rawkwon Pauldo after a heated debate on a biblical verse regarding, of all things, forgiveness.

I am sure atheists will have a field day with this tragedy.  However, any intelligent person knows that the Bible is not to blame here.  People argue and fight over anything. Let us not forget the atheist who shot the Muslims over a parking spot now... (see: http://www.sacerdotus.com/2015/05/atheist-killer-faces-death-penalty.html).  People lost their cool during passionate debates all the time.  Unfortunately, some go a bit too far and hurt their opponents or even kill them.

The Bible should never become a weapon to argue over or bash people with.  It is God's Word. The Bible is to be read and shared. Arguments over biblical verses are the result of the Protestant Reformation where Luther declared that all we need is the Bible and no Magesterium. Because of this, we have different front store "churches" with pastors giving different explanations for different verses. There are even times when one pastor shoots and kills another one over a bible verse (http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/09/08/pastor-allegedly-shoots-kills-minister-during-argument-over-bible-at-retirement-home.html).  Only the Catholic Church can truly interpret Sacred Scripture.   

People need to learn how to keep their cool during a debate of any kind.
