Atheist Sentenced 10 Yrs 2,000 Lashes

A 28 year old Saudi man was sentenced 10 years in prison, along with 2,000 lashes and fined for being an atheist and expressing his atheistic beliefs on the social network Twitter.  Saudi Arabia is known for its Islamic laws which frowns upon free speech and expression.  The young atheist is not named but is defiant despite his fate.  On his Twitter account, the young man criticized Islam, ridicule verses from the Quran and openly professed his atheism.

It is sad that Islamic nations are so insecure that they need to oppress the speech of others.  If Islam was true, valid and authentic, then it would move hearts and not need such strict defense.
