Homo Naledi Burial Ground Discovered

One of our distant cousins is believed to have been discovered. Scientists from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa have unearthed some remains of what appears to be a new species related to the human race.  The bones were discovered by a spelunker, 30 miles of Johannesburg.  It seems that the area is a hotbed for fossils with over 1,500 discovered since 2013.

The fossil remains discovered have been named Homo Naledi.  It is believed that these cousins of ours walked upright and even used tools.  I am proud to share that a professor from my alma mater CUNY also participated in the discovery.  Eric Delson of Lehman College in the Bronx New York was part of the group that braved the narrow limestone caves in order to discover what appears to be a burial ground.

This is an awesome discovery and will shed more light on the evolution of man.  I will follow up on this and will contact Professor Delson to see if he can shed more light on the discovery.
