Some Family Time

Yesterday I had some fun time with family and friends.  We all went to Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York.  The area has sure changed since the last time I visited there.

With the passing of super storm Sandy, the photos of Coney Island literally under water were frightening.

The sight of the beach, boardwalk, even the rides of Astroland and the streets engulfed with water was something out of a Hollywood movie.  Nevertheless, they did a pretty good job in cleaning it all up.  Some new things were added as well.

Family time I think is extremely important.  It is via the family that we learn about what it means to be a human being living on this ball of rock, dirt, water and gas that we call Earth.  Not all families are perfect.  Each family is unique and we can learn from each other - yes even from the ones with challenging personalities.

I hope you're enjoying summer and taking this time to spend it with family and friends.  Life is good even with the nonsense that circulates it sometimes.
