Cardinal on Thin Ice
Cardinal Dolan is no stranger to controversy. However, this one will probably outshine the previous ones. He has made himself available to pray the closing prayer at the Republican National Convention.
He is on thin ice here, in my opinion. The Catholic Church could be seen as siding with Republicans. The Church is not of any particular party.
In any case, he did make himself available to do the same at the Democratic National Convention, so that seems to have relaxed the controversy a bit. Let's see how it goes. Maybe he can bring some grace upon both crazy parties.
