The recent events at the University of California are disturbing. A group of students sat on campus property protesting tuition hikes and other issues that also concern the Occupy Wall Street movement. During the protest, a Campus police officer sprayed the students with pepper spray. The manner in which he did it was disturbing. He casually walked about spraying the students as if they were roaches.
The situation could have been handled better in my opinion. Universities should be a place for academic freedom, and a place where students can exercise their Constitutional rights in a manner that does not infringe on the rights of others.
